Great hotel and garden for any kind of visit. Staff are helpful and friendly, food is good and decent portions. Bar is the only slight problem, no decent ales and the whisky menu is way out of date with few if any of the malt whiskies in stock.

Ian thanks for the very positive review,we work very hard to make the guests stay a pleasant and chilled experience. We do have 30 plus malt whiskys to chose from however the menu needs updating as the choices change. Our secret weapon on stress relief. We have on the beer side,Peroni,Carling,Belhaven Black,Twisted Thistle(craft beer) and Belhaven Best. We are not a...

We are a Canadian retired couple traveling in Scotland, who spent two nights here. The room was wonderful , with antique furniture and a comfortable ambience. The bathroom modern and spacious. The staff was so friendly yet efficient. If you stay there you MUST eat in their dining room. The food is exquisite!! We ate there both nights and all...

I recently stayed at this hotel. I was greeted by staff that seemed to think that they were very superior. I was with familly so we had a number of rooms. The "executive" rooms contained fake "antique" furniture but had decent bathrooms with exception of a broken toilet seat (previous attempt at repairing with glue failed) however the worst part...

We had a comfortable stay. The hotel interior look and feel is clean but a bit tired. The dinner and breakfast were good, served to bagpipes CD playing on a short loop in the restaurant! It is located a short walk to the seaside.

Amazing old castle. We were upgraded to the Tower room. It was a two bed suite with an amazing bathroom. Small lounge in the turret and you could go up further right to the top and out on to the turret for an amazing view. Although the wall paper was a bit tired it went with the building. The staff...

A striking exterior, but overwhelmingly dark inside with a really quite 'tired' feel around the lobby, the bar and the restaurant. Our room was alright, generic and clean, but not attractive or characterful in any way, and the 'Double' was really only two singles pushed together. The 'Continental' breakfast was very limited but the hot food was ok, in the...

Celtic Castle booked us in here and my wife was thrilled with it's history and that the Queens sister had stayed. We had a very large room full of antique furnishings with huge semi modern bathroom facing the not too distant sea but the view was mostly of an Academy (school) and a neighborhood built around it in the 60's....

We were looking for a castle experience and was extremely pleased that we booked here. From phone conversations and email, the staff was very helpful in ensuring that our group received the right rooms. The bar prices were very reasonable and the breakfast was very good. Thank you for a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

We wanted to have a proper Scottish manor experience, the hotel is beautiful particularly the rooms. We stayed at their executive rooms, they are in good condition with every detail you would expect in a small castle. The food was just incredible and great value although I would recommend that you book the restaurant beforehand as it gets quite busy....

Located in Tain, the Mansfield offers great food, luxurious accommodations and friendly service at a reasonable price. Located close to lots of attractions, like the Glenmorangie Distillery. Tain is a small town without a lot of noise or traffic but with lots to explore in its own right.
