Hotel ws very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is old but has been updated and rooms were basic but comfortable. We were on a voucher deal and it was great value. The hotel was very cosy in bedrooms and bar but hotel dining room at breakfast could have been a bit warmer. Will be returning when...

I had an enjoyable night's stay for a cheap price but I don't think I'd return as the room was quite cold & really shabby (chipboard showing on corners of unit). The lighting was dim (not all lights working) so was difficult to do hair & make up. There was some plaster hanging off the ceiling too. On the plus...

We stayed here for 3 nights in November whilst working at an event. I was a bit unsure from some of the reviews I had read {mostly from the discount voucher guests}, but was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel is a beautiful old building. The staff on arrival could not have been more helpful and were a great help in accommodating...

Thought it had character wee love it on Groupon deal but it creaks and blows a little cold air through the cracks. The staff are fine if you only talk to them including chantel reception girl and breakfast staff. To the management now please put some insulation around windows it will save you on heating costs as I know you...

Lovely little hotel with wonderful food, seaside views were amazing.Great breakfast and great staff! Rooms clean and spacious, nothing more needed for a 2 night break. Not far from the town where there's a few shops, cafes and restaurants. Will definitely visit again.

So visited the restaurant for lunch with a friend on Thursday and it was terrible. Friend ordered steak pie and I had Swiss chicken, steak in pie was terribly chewy to which friend couldn't eat it, and butterflied chicken was rather dry, 2 dishes which are not incredibly difficult to get right. When it came to ordering desert I wanted...

Absolutely awful! Room was damp cold and very unwelcoming. Double bed cramped into corner of room with not a single bedside table or lamp! Most of spotlights in ceiling out. Dated and dirty! Water in sink scalding but freezing cold in shower. Grout black with mould and disgusting! Needs gutting! There is no need for it to be this bad....

What a lovely hotel, run by very friendly people. Great food and atmosphere. The anchorage is a great vintage hotel with lots of history not one for the modern eye, however fantastic for those who like quality , friendly atmosphere. Clean and spacious rooms. We will definitely be returning
