Booked lunch here purely on the basis of its Michelin star award, and i certainly was not disappointed. Both the food and service were excellent and the surroundings really were magnificent. The ox cheek was tender and full of flavour, the combination pork dish tasted superb and to finish i had the best raspberry souffle i've ever tasted. The presentation...

Having sampled quite a number of Afternoon teas throughout Scotland, we decided to try Glenapp's as a treat for a friend's birthday. We were met in the courtyard and ushered into the hallway where our coats were taken and then shown into the lounge which was all very friendly and attentive. However, it was downhill from then on - terrible...

Arrived to a personal welcome. Made to feel very comfortable in main lounge. Very attentive staff kept tea coming and ensured we left completely full with a doggy bag for relatives. Amazing location and fantastic building; well worth the trip!

I had hoped that our outing today on Easter Monday for afternoon tea would live up to our expectations after reviewing the hotel on TA and their own impressive website. The building and views were the best part of the visit. Beyond that I can only say that the tea is overpriced and under baked. As residents of Ayrshire we...

Where do I start , the place is to say the least hard to find but when you do , what a treat you are in for a beautiful setting and the most amazing people too look after you but the reason that I have booked to go back is the food , just incredible and I have since found...

It's not Downton Abbey - but the service , food and rooms are on a par with the best Scotland has to offer. It's worth the drive from Glasgow to have a wonderful overnight or weekend at this hotel/castle. We hated leaving!

Our two night stay at Glenapp Castle was one of the highlights of our two weeks in the UK. The attention to detail regarding the guest's experience was exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed both evenings spent in the dining room......from the amuse bouche to the port and cheese courses. Despite our very late arrival after a long drive from Yorkshire...

We spent 4 nights in the Castle to celebrate a special Birthday for my husband. From arrival to departure we were treated really well. The Castle is beautiful with our 2 rooms making a spacious retreat. It was like staying with a very well heeled relative as it also felt so homely and welcoming. The local area is very run...

At short notice (and therefore benefiting from a degree of cost reduction) my wife and I stayed at Glenapp for one night to celebrate an anniversary. We had a little difficulty finding it as we missed the minor access road just outside Ballantrae, which is easy to do given the lack of signage. Once there we loved the rather grand...

We booked for a two day break to celebrate a birthday. The welcome at the door was the start of a great time. The room was very nice, well decorated and furnished to a high standard. The large comfortable bed was turned down whilst we were at dinner and the towels and water replenished. The food was excellent as was...
