We stayed in the Ailsa Suite recently on a Saturday night. Lovely big room with a fourposter and small seating area. It was a very cold afternoon but the room had been heated in advance and was extremely comfortable. Lovely friendly staff and we enjoyed our day from start to finish, afternoon tea, dinner and a hearty breakfast. Thanks to... More

AMAZINGGG! Beautiful, magnificent! We had the most romantic wedding for 2, the castle itself was quite enchanting and made for the perfect backdrop to a beautiful wedding. We stayed in the Eisenhower Suite, beautiful , spacious, has a nice dressing room to prepare the wedding gown. The staff was very attentive and ready for any request. We had a chef... More

We booked a great deal through 5pm, and stayed for two nights for our wedding anniversary. The staff were very welcoming and we immediately went into the circular drawing room for cream teas, which were very nicely presented. Our room was nice but as we had booked late it probably wasn't the best room and had small circular windows on... More

Interesting and beautiful castle in the area of Aryshire. Compared to other castles I've seen, it seemed small. The library, bedrooms , dining hall and parlor is rather grand. Pretty grounds and well kept.

Loved every minute of our stay at the Brewhouse Flat. We stayed while the castle itself was closed but still managed to happily wile away 4 days without even leaving the grounds. The flat is massive - we couldn't believe it was all ours when we arrived. All very well equipped and nice and warm even in winter. The adventure... More

A national treasure of a castle that is beautifully presented and has a large variety of things to do. NT members will get in free, otherwise this might seem pricey, but there is a lot here including the superb house and the children's adventure play area - both in fantastic condition. More background to the house and the Eisenhower link... More

The grounds and the castle itself are just beautiful! The castle is surrounded by a large wooded park. There is a short walk from the car park to the castle of a beautiful ancient bridge. The castle is built on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Spectacular! When you enter the castle your first room is full of very old guns... More

The bellboys made sure our stay was more than perfect. Elizabeth cooked my girlfriend a traditional Scottish breakfast which was absolutely delicious. The surroundings were breathtaking which put the cherry on the cake. The only thing I missed was a pleasant greeting from the hotel manager. She didn't seem to be very interested in our stay at the castle or... More

We stayed with family and went there for an afternoon trip with 7 kids and 13 adults, some had difficulties walking due to recent injuries and some (my boys especially) needed to run. We parked by the coffee house and walked along the costal path towards the swan lake which was our meeting point. One car travelled down to swan... More
