Dirt road to cabins can be a little tricky, esp after dark. Really only enough room for one way traffic. Wedding went well, reception a bit far up to walk, but lovely when you arrive. Setting beautiful, lake lovely, far out in the woods, if you want seclusion, peace and quiet and to enjoy nature...this is the spot!

Unlike a traditional B&B, the Butterfly Gap Retreat accomodations are individual and private. We liked that no pets or children are allowed as it really is a romantic couples retreat. Each one of the accomodations has its own flavor and style. We stayed at #320 and it was really excellent. Big delicious breakfasts were delivered to our door each morning....

My husband and I have stayed at Butterfly Gap twice in the last two years. The first visit was for our honeymoon in August 2012. It was perfect! We stayed in Cabin 225, which has more of a "cabin" feel than the others, and it is very spacious. It had everything we needed and wanted, including a washer and dryer...

My husband and I just returned from our second trip to Butterfly Gap, which in and of itself is rare for us. We travel a lot and like to try new places, so choosing to spend several of our hard earned vacation days at a place we'd already been should tell you something. The reason we went back (and will...

Fantastic getaway. Loved it. Hospitality is unmatched. Nestled away yet close enough to go into town, if needed. Architecture is stunning. Can't wait to go back! Every cottage is different and so charming!

Retreat is a perfect word for this place. It's more than a B & B, more than renting a remote cabin in the mountains, more than staying in a luxurious inn. As others have noted, the breakfasts they serve are far better than you will find in a typical B & B. The individual cabins were specifically designed for the...

I would highly suggest this retreat. My husband and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The cabin was more beautiful than the pictures show (if that is even possible) and the shower...what I wouldn't give to have that shower... Anyway, we stayed in #332 which was very private. As other guests have...

We stayed at Butterfly Gap Retreat while visiting my husband's boyhood home (Maryville, TN) and family. We stayed in Cottage #332- beautifully decorated, comfortable and private. Loved the 2-person shower and the floor to ceiling windows. So quiet and private. The breakfasts were awesome and Becky and her family are very warm and welcoming. Will definitely return!!

We have stayed in many hotels and B&B's but never have we fallen in love with a place like we did this one. Butterfly Gap is a jewel hidden in the mountains east of Maryville, TN. The 5 cottages are luxurious, unusually designed and very comfortable. The abundance of windows made it feel like we were all alone in the...

The Butterfly Gap was beautiful. Close to everything from dining to Cades Coves - We just returned from a 4 night stay. The hosts are all wonderful - helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Breakfast - as others have stated is fantastic and bountiful - we had no need to worry about lunch as breakfast was plenty for both meals....
