Third time iv visited and each time I hope it will be improved and am left disappointed each time. We were offered the wrong food twice and the wrong drink twice as there does not appear to be any system for the waiter to identify who ordered the food.if there is the staff clearly don't understand it as each time...

This hotel has had an 'extensive refurbishment', though this apparently applies only to the ground floor public rooms. First indication was the lift, which appeared to have been salvaged from a museum. Our room was revolting: old, tired, dated, stains on carpet, mould on walls, hole smashed in one wall, paint peeling from rotten window frames, stains on sheets and...

Stayed for one night with work. Impressed from start to finish. The staff were pleasant and friendly through-out especially the girl at check in. Food was amazingly good at dinner and breakfast. Rooms are currently being ugraded following what appears to be an extenaive upgrade to public areas. My room was renovated but the bathroom had not been done yet....

Very disappointed nothing like the management photos, ground floor is nice as been refurbished. Rooms musty, mouldy and dirty and really dated would not give the room 1 star, go for a drink in the bar but DONT STAY HERE until the rooms have been sorted!!

Working lunch today after hotel refurb, had been to Royal many times before refurb, all i can say is "amazing". The food was fantastic, the portion size was great, the service was tremendous, we only had an hour and were out in plenty of time. Well done on the great changes. The hotel decor is beautiful and food is great,...

Fantastic decor and food. Staff very attentive and lunch 2 courses for £10. Food was fantastic and served on beautiful earthenwear dishes. Crystal glasses for our drinks. Highly recommend. Afternoon tea £14 is our next thing to try. Until then

Lovely lunch in beautiful surroundings. We chose from the express lunch menu which was excellent value for money. The only complaint we have is that we had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks order. This was intended as a pre-lunch drink but our starter arrived before the drinks. Great food, reasonably priced. Glorious sunshine was a bonus!

My partner and I came down for drinks on Saturday night and got a seat on the terrace. I approached the bar to order some drinks and were send immediately back to our seat as it was 'table service. After 15 mins of waiting outside the terrace (in view of the bar) not one waiter/waitress came outside to take our...

We arrived to have Sunday Lunch but were told it was only the Sunday Brunch menu that was available at 1.15 pm . I had booked lunch and wasn't informed that the full menu was unavailable until 4pm The Sunday Brunch menu is gimmicky you choose an item from the menu a side and you get a glass of orange...

Have tried this place 3 times now hoping third time lucky but wasn't to be. Staff very unknowledgeable on the menu, food quality poor for the price. Was brought bacon on a bruschetta when stated Parma Ham on the menu with no explanation, guess they think diners are stupid! Simple request of asking for mayo on the side of a...
