Simply put ..this is a fantastic b&b. The room was delightful, clean, spacious and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay a relaxing one. The house is very clean, offers snacks and drinks throughout the day, and the breakfasts were fabulous. The house is situated perfectly for a visit around Islay, is a five minute wander from... We were in Bowmore for a four day scotch distillery tour visiting approximately nine distilleries. The Bowmore House is operated by the Jackson's. The breakfast was enough to feed an army, excellent quality. The Jackson's were a great couple with two young children. Each room had a name which I do not recall. We were the lucky ones to get... My wife and I took an Islay Whisky Tour with Scottish Routes out of Edinburgh and spent three nights at the Bowmore House. Andrew and Alison were great hosts and not only did they provide great accommodations and breakfasts , they were very willing to help us out when trying to decide how we might package and/or ship bottles of... "Andrew and Alison welcome you to the Bowmore House." They certainly do and a generous hospitality was felt all during our stay. We were on a Whisky Tour, which was very enjoyable, and Andrew provided first class recommendations and information. A wee dram for breakfast was much appreciated. Alison and Andrew treated us like guests in their home, thank you.... More

The Bowmore House is perfect for touring Islay, as it's central to everything. But more importantly is the accommodating nature of the owners. I've stayed at luxury boutique hotels that weren't as host-friendly as The Bowmore House. It's all in the details. Little niceties everywhere you turn that makes you feel cared for... like they are trying to handle any... More

The Bowmore House is the perfect stay on Islay, especially if you are a whisky tourist. Accommodations are clean and comfortable and Alison and Andrew are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is provided and I can honestly say that it was my favorite meal in Scotland. Haggis (best I've had), black pudding, smoked mackerel and tomatoes as well as the usual eggs,... More

Andrew and Alyson took hospitality to the next level. We were met in the driveway, Andrew brought our bags to the room, gave us a few drams of Whisky, made us dinner reservations, handled distillery tours. All of that without seeming like it was any effort whatsoever. At breakfast he made absolutely the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. We... More

What a wonderful place to stay. The welcome, hospitality and kindness given by Andrew and Alyson would be hard to match. The location is great too, with pubs and places to eat within walking distance, buses to take you to some of the distilleries and if there isn't a bus, taxis are available. Your hosts Andrew and Alyson are a... More

The wonderful stay in the bnb really made our whiskey tour a perfect journey. The owner is super helpful, the room is clean and beautiful, and the location is central in the island. In the little island where everything can be unpredictable, the owner advises us what to do and make arrangements when things were not happening as planned.
