I was traveling to Islay alone this summer and I really lucked out in getting to stay here! First off, the view out of the front door is incredible (looking over the bay to Port Ellen). Just walking up and down the shore line I was able to see a wide variety of wildlife ranging from Oystercatchers to Seals! Also,...

My sister had a wonderful stay with Harry and Sally, two incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming hosts. They went out of our way to help us get what we needed and make us feel at home. The property is quiet, tranquil and picturesque. It was the best night's sleep I had in Scotland. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and we...

We were lucky to find a room here given that it was the middle of Feis Ile, but Sally was very accommodating and we had a great visit. The lighthouse makes for a nice quick visit and the location is very quiet and beautiful. Sally's breakfast was incredibly good! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location.

My brother and I cannot say enough good things about this place and the wonderful woman who runs it! The food was excellent and she was very accommodating in making a bit extra of what we enjoyed most (2 26yr olds can eat a lot!). The rooms were perfect for our needs and had all the amenities we could need...

Small self catering cottage. Ideal as Sally was prepared to let for 3 nights. She did all she could to make us welcome. Some of the furnishings and the bed linen were tired but very clean for an old cottage. One big problem that needs spelling out is the stairs. We knew from the web site that there were 3...

Great B&B right on the water down a private drive. There is a light house right outside the front door. Our room was comfortable and the location was gorgeous. There is a shared bathroom, a usable kitchen, laundry on site (which we found very convenient, costs £5), and the lovely lady who runs it cooked us a full Scottish breakfast...

A friend of mine booked this place it was difficult to find another one that would not be crazy expensive or only bookable for the whole week. Location is great. Close of the Ocean, very remote, lovely. The drawback: quite far for Bowmore: don't expect to walk back. The house itself is big and nice. Wifi is working fine (good...

We stayed at Carraig Fhada for 3 nights in Aug 28/12. Rooms are spacious with TV and kettle with coffee and tea to enjoy anytime. The beds were comfortable and the view from our room was of the lighthouse and water, gorgeous! Sally was a terrific hostess. Breakfast was anything you wanted from fruit, cereal, yogurt to a full Scottish...
