Just called in for a drink in the bar of this recently refurbished hotel. Looked good and would consider staying there as port Ellen one of the prettiest places on the island. Service was friendly and there is an amazing whisky bar ...the best on the island.

Ranging from the very friendly and helpful staff, this hotel was a finding. Although the room was not super spacious, it was super cozy and comfortable. The hotel restaurant offered a great variety of interesting food for vegetarians, which was a plus. Their drinks selection was not half bad. We had a great time and I hope to be back...

This hotel has friendly staff with a very comfortable relaxed feeling. It's an old building, but very well finished to a modern specification. Outstanding features are the breakfasts and evening meals, which were of high quality and the breakfasts set you up for the day! The bedroom we had was small with a very big double bed and a very...

I spent a day at the Islay hotel and it was a great retreat that I needed. I have recently completed with my masters and wanted to just get out of reality and relax for a while in a quiet and quaint place and the Islay hotel does the trick. Since I was visiting on an off-peak time, the hotel...

Stayed here 1 night quite working on Island. Was upgraded to a premium bedroom which was spacious itself and had large modern bathroom. Decor and furnishings added to a very relaxing stay. Bar was well laid out and restaurant full of character. I had a snack in the bar, dinner and breakfast, all of which were perfect. Presentation, taste and...

The Islay Hotel was a nice base for our weekend on Islay. The highlight was being able to bring along our dog. Our room was very large and spacious with everything that we needed. The bar and reception staff stood out as being friendly. One suggestion would be for more information on things to do on Islay in the room...

We had a breakfast reservation at the hotel prior to our friend's wedding at Ardbeg distillery. Don't be deceived by the plain exterior, this hotel is lovely inside. Tastefully decorated and modern. The staff were friendly, as is everyone on Islay. The breakfast (we had the full Scottish) was tasty and plentiful. Worth a visit.

Our first visit to Port Ellen , what a great little village and just like the rest of the island the people are great so after a little drink in a bar on the front we were recommended to the Islay Hotel for lunch in the whisky bar. The bar is light and comfortable and the food is prepared with...
