Stayed two nights in this relatively modern hotel. Very spacious room with extra wide bed, well furnished and spotless, however the view from our room was over flat rooftops to a scrap yard in the distance! We were with a group of 29 and dinner was pre-ordered - very good food and friendly service. Breakfast was chaos! Another group had been advised to arrive half an hour before us and although we had all pre-ordered, we just waited and waited for over half an hour before even getting a hot drink. I don't think anybody in either party got what they had ordered - we didn't get juice or cereal and half a cooked breakfast before we had to leave for the day. They were obviously short staffed and couldn't cope with the numbers and the ones that were there were very apologetic. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine that evening and breakfast the next morning was better. There was more staff, the two groups were staggered by an hour and most of us received what we had ordered. I believe we were the first large parties to stay there since lockdown restrictions were lifted, so lessons will be learned.

Stayed here as part of party of 25 touring the Hebrides. Due to timings of ferry from Ullapool we did not arrive in hotel till 20.45 hrs. While this was only 15 minutes late the Manager of hotel made our TM made it plain he was not happy with our lateness. Given the weather you can experience during the crossing this must be a regular occurrence and was the same with another group who arrived there 2 days later. Dinner service was very efficient on all 3 days we were there, helped by the fact the meals were pre-booked. Breakfast service on our first day was good however it was a different matter when the 2nd group of 40+ arrived. It was chaotic, no Manager and the staff were left with insufficient ingredients to complete the pre ordered choices. Jessica O’ Loughlin was really helpful trying to deal with the issues but in the end, after waiting an hour for even toast, many of our group left the table without food to meet our coach departure time. The next morning we were asked to stagger our timings with the other group and arrived an hour apart. Service was superb and everyone was very happy. I’m sure the hotel had some teething problems with staffing levels and that subsequent tours will be encouraged to give the staff time to give them the service levels we received on our last day.

In Stornoway on business...the room was very spacious and had everything you would need in a hotel room. The only criticism I would have was that there were no power sockets next to the bed. This meant I couldn't so conveniently have my mobile phone next to the bed to act as an alarm clock and also recharge it overnight. Breakfast was included in the room rate and this was excellent. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre.
