County Hotel, Stornoway. On arrival, fantastic, room spot on, however returning from work around 9.30pm ordered drinks dream, then ignored while 4 of the staff sat to have their evening meal which I assume they well deserved. However I sat there a further 15mins still will empty glasses, so gave up went to bed breakfast amazing, however came to evening meal, on Friday night, 8.50pm, last orders 8.30pm , when I ask to speak to duty manager I was yes sat waiting 10mins, then the person I spoke to orginal when I ask for DM did it was them , said I qas disappointed I couldn't get food, explained I wS diabetic and needed something very quickly, nothing, I said I would be checking out early as I qas very disappointed, offered a pint as an apology, not really what I was wanting, declined this and i insisted I pay for it as that was not the point, Finished my drink sat for a further 15mins and nothing g not even asked I wanted an other drink, at this point there wasn't other customers , I only saw 1 drink been given to that customer, the rest were not offered an more drinks, 3 of the staff were more interested in cleaning the cutlery than an service for the guests. I then paid my bills as I had to pay separately for each night?????? So I decided to talk to the person in charge, where by she said I was rude on the first night which amazed me as I didn't even speak to anyone , which shocked me as I don't think this person was on!!!! Lastly I would think if you were going to speak badly about a customer/client/ guests I would suggest for strongly that said person should alway check to make sure the person who you wish to call an a...hole etc I won't go on) was well out of earshot and not recording the conversation.!!!

Compliments to the chef and staff for the best meal of our holiday. Highly recommended restaurant for couples, small groups or families, with a wide selection of food catering for all. Compliments !

First off, service is amazing, great staff. I had steak which was slightly overdone for what I wanted and the fat wasn't rendered down which made for an unpleasant experience, everything else was ok but a bit underwhelming for the price. My partner had the lasagne which was good. I have previously had the curries which are amazing, should have stuck to that!

Would highly recommend to anyone and a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us! Thank you!
