We were on a cycle trip from Land End to John O Groats and stayed in similar hotels up the country. I'm afraid this was the low point. I phoned in the morning and asked if they could organise a taxi for one of our party - it was as if I had asked for the lady to eat manure...

I am afraid I don't have many positives except for the location and the staff, in particular Ross who seems to be the mainstay of the hotel and the breakfast which was ok. The proprietress seems to have her head firmly buried in the sand, and was very much less than helpful. The building is in sore need of attention...

Right lets start with the positive. The staff are excellent and very helpful, warm and friendly. I took my Dad away for a weekend of respite and we stayed in a twin room at the house out the back of the main hotel. The room smelt a bit foosty (damp) and had seen better days. The cliched tartan bed covers...

Nice, clean room with a poster bed. The house is set among beautiful gardens on the southern end of the Isle of Skye. Not much in the immediate vicinity, including good dining options. Advance research and planning is recommended if you want somewhere nice to eat (recommend the Clachan pub in Dornie). Service was good here and breakfast was very...

We have had a lovely three night stay in this hotel. Do not recognise the detrimental comments made by previous contributors. Room was excellent, food (breakfast) was first class and staff were warm and friendly ( as you should be to them!). Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. Relax and enjoy.

We are a partie of six with five Motorbikes. On arrival we were given different rooms as booked. This wasn't a problem. The place has a flair from second world war and unfortunately has really developed from there on. Breakfast is poor, the choice is very very limited. You can't take warm shower until well after 8' o clock (if...

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon in 2013. The MacKinnon Country House Hotel is made up of an old manor and an annex behind it (where our room was). Aesthetically it's a nice place with an appealing mix of manicured and semi-wild grounds. They have an honesty bar which is an interesting feature. You can make yourself...

My husband, and my friends (another couple), swung by prior to check-in. The door was wide open with no one about. We decided since we were two hours early, we'd go grab something to eat and explore a little. We came back after the said check-in. Our friend rang the service bell a few times. And even saw a few...

Stayed here 10 days ago Arrived at 7pm to be told hotel restaurant was closed, that they wouldn't be serving any food, should make people aware of this when they book. Wifi, non existent, blaming the weather for it not working. Breakfast, got the order wrong. Got home to find they'd charged me twice for the privilege of staying there....
