Detailed Reviews
Gillian and her husband are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious. We had many lovely chats. The lounge area was welcoming and comfortable. Another traveler and I shared some wine, cider and our life stories. They offer a kitchenette for visitor use so you can heat up a meal or keep something cold. Please consider this Bed and Breakfast, you won't be disappointed.

Such a lovely place.
On arrival Gillian was so welcoming.
Quickly detailing the requirements for the Covid restrictions.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Had the best nights sleep ever. No noise at all.
Use of a sitting room with tv, books, games. Everything you would need. As we had such good weather we didn’t use this but it looked very comfortable.
The locations is right on the edge of the small harbour.
Local bars are within walking distance and these also do food.
Breakfast in the hotel was faultless.
Would recommend and definitely visit again.

Stopped at the White Heather Hotel desperate for a room as our original reservation at another guest house was not what we expected and it was a room with a single bed for two female friends traveling together. After stopping at several hotels and guest houses without any vacancies, the owners of the White Heather were so kind to helps us call around to get us a room and they finally did. I will forever be grateful to them and I would recommend their place despite the fact that we never stayed there, it was truly Scottish hospitality and kindness, thank you again!

Stayed at The White Heather Hotel for 2 nights whilst on a tour of the West Highlands and Skye. We were given a very friendly and warm welcome. I had a lovely room, with a super view over the harbour. A huge choice for breakfast, which you order the night before, there is also a small guest kitchen that you can use, no oven, but it has a microwave, the hotel don't serve evening meals, there are however a selection of eateries nearby which you can walk to.

After a trip back up to the family croft in Lewis I decided to come home via Skye and stay the night so we picked the family run White Heather in Kyleakin owned by Gillian and Craig Glenwright.
Not only is this smashing wee hotel in a beautiful site overlooking a sleepy wee calm bay but the quality of both the accommodation and the hospitality was second to none.
We will most definitely be back and next time we will be staying a wee bit longer as one night wasn't enough.
Really enjoyed our stay!
One wee note is that restrictions were still in place so we didn't even get the full experience.
Another reason to go back.

Welcoming and lovely proprietress who took the time to find us a driver to take us around Skye and walk us through the intricacies of booking ferry rides and trains (after our tour company went bankrupt and left us high and dry). But enough about that! The hotel is just lovely, overlooking Saucy Mary’s ruined castle. The rooms are clean and spacious with thoughtful amenities like organic tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The bathrooms are gorgeous! The bed and pillows were nicer than the ones I have at home. Slept like a baby. And the complimentary breakfast, served in the seaside breakfast room is very good. Five-plus stars!

Lovely location right on the harbour. Very clean comfortable room, slept like a log!! Gillian is lovely, fantastic hostess, very friendly and cheery. Breakfast was first class, delicious and fantastic choice. Seen a few bad reviews on this place and some people are never happy! Place is a fantastic base to visit Skye!

The was an extremely comfortable B&B with a spacious room and bathroom, a nice view, and absolutely amazing owners running the place. They were very friendly, provided a tasty breakfast, and seem to run the place very well. It was extremely clean, and the downstairs parlors had board games and trivia games we enjoyed. Would highly recommend as a home base from which to travel the Isle of Skye.

Hello! I recommend you to book 3 rooms for that B&B,since the bed they have is big and 3 children can sleep together if they want. Or you can contact the reception there and ask for suggestion. The people are really nice in that accomodation.
Hi Kerry,
thank you for your enquiry - I'm afraid we have no availability for that evening - sorry. We hope you have a lovely visit to the area wherever you end up staying! :)
Warmest Wishes
Gillian
