Here are the things I liked about the Kings Arms: the bedroom curtains were thick, and there were free mint imperials on the reception desk. Here are the things I didn't like: the surly staff, the horrible breakfast (a rock hard poached egg and a rasher of sweaty bacon on a plate), the scalding hot water in the bathroom tap,...

While road tripping around Scotland this was the only place we had booked for two nights instead of just one night in order to give us plenty of time on the Isle of Skye. Getting here after a long drive was a disappointment though. The advertised photos don't compare to our room or the ones we saw open while the...

I booked two nights and arrived after driving almost 600 miles at 18.30, the receptionist was not welcoming at all and I had to wait for 5 minutes before she acknowledged I was there. On reaching our room passing through corridors that were in a very poor state of decoration I turned the lights on, only one worked!!!! The chairs...

7 girls on an Urquhart bus tour for weekend. Hotel was clean, beds spotless and good overall cleanliness. Food was lovely and breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this hotel. Tour all dining at the same time but service was still good.

We only stayed here one night and, whilst it was in a nice location with the bridge to Skye on its doorstep, the staff were unfriendly, especially on reception after a long wait to check in. The breakfast was ok, but the staff seemed rushed and it felt a little manic. The bed was really uncomfortable to the point where...

Dead flies in the bathroom. Unable to open the windows and no exhaust meaning we got a huge amount of humidity on the windows. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Zero wifi anywhere in the hotel even though they advertise that there is free WiFi. Only positive is it was cheap and free parking.

Just recently visited this hotel it seems to be a tired hotel on my way to my room I saw that the paint was peeling off the walls in the corridor in addition to this you could smell the dampness in the corridors. The hotel needs some money spent on it as I say it is very tired and worn...

We loved our stay. The rooms are adequate but the restaurant is wonderful as are the staff. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The location is close to the bridge and affords lovely views of the mainland.

My partner and I stay at Kings Arms Hotel in Kyleakin very often; it's a great location and the cooked breakfast is good (no greasy eggs and bacon). * The staff could be more polite (the girl at reception with the broken English is VERY rude! been watching how she speaks with other guests whilst waiting on being served) *...

Had read some unfavourable comments about this hotel but we were a bit desperate to find accommodation on the Isle of Skye. Yes, the hotel is dated, the carpets in the hallways need replacing, but our room was ok. Spacious, clean and decent sized bathroom, we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our first roast in two weeks and apart from...
