We stayed here 2 nights from the 16th to 18th August in lodge 20. The lodge was basic but we knew that. For a couple of guys on a fishing trip then what was on offer we couldn't really argue with. There were however a couple of small issues. There was no seating outside or table as advertised so the first night we ended up sitting inside eating curry on our laps, no clothes hooks inside the shower room so clothes had to be put on the floor. The tap in our toilet was so close to the edge of the basin that it made it almost impossible to use.

Not the owners fault but be aware that the midges are torture so go prepared.

I would say that we paid £100 per night for 2 adults and if you hunt around then you can get a bed and breakfast for around that or just slightly more which will give you way more facilities and even breakfast.

So as a last resort then this is okay but do some hunting around as most places you can drive within the hour for sight seeing should you want better facilities.

We stayed here for two nights... first impressions was that the site looked really nice and the lodge was very cute and clean. We had everything we needed in it (apart from bedding) and it was very compact. Self check in was nice and easy and there was good communication. What I didn’t like was that I received an email the day before to remind me to bring bedding and towels when the email stated that this was all provided and we were already well into our trip around Scotland. Luckily one of the other sites we were staying on required us to bring this so we had this in the car. It did say on the reminder email that we could buy this from them so I don’t know if this was a bit of a ploy to get us to buy from them. The shower didn’t work at all during our stay and the lodge was extremely, extremely hot. You couldn’t open the windows because of the midges, but we ended up doing this from 1am until 4am because it was awful and none of us could sleep because of it. It was really cute though, I liked that it was dog friendly and the site was full but nice and quiet, but I don’t think it was worth the money that we paid for what we got and I think we will choose somewhere else to stay if we were to visit Skye in the future!

The pod was comfortable and having a shower room was great. Location was very quiet and on one night we had great views of the stars.
Location was good. Very easy to find and about 5 minutes drive to Portree where there are cafes and restaurants. I wouldn't recommend if you do not have a car as there are no footpaths on the Road to Portree and yiu need to bring towels and bedding with you. Some Pods have small kitchen areas but ours only had a kettle but cups etc are not provided, so would suggest bringing your own provisions/ equipment.

A great little lodge site with lovely views of the surrounding hills.
The lodges are simple but do have toilet, shower and plenty of electrical points.
No fridge so worth investing in a small travel fridge if you want to keep milk or cold food.
Due to Covid the onsite cafe and bar was closed but Portree is just a couple if minutes drive away so not a problem getting food and drink.
As with all the Highlands and Islands be prepared for midges morning and evening.
Would happily return again.

Room Tip: Take midge repellant you will need it, and a travel fridge for your milk/food.

We were in a superior double lodge with great facilities (hob, sink, fridge, toaster, kettle, utensils). Location is great is you are looking to explore Skye by car. Portree is 5 mins drive away, 30 mins to fairy pools. Lodge is more like a glamping pod/wigwam which was perfect for us as a couple. Compact and comfortable. However for larger families or people who have stayed in other 'lodges', these may be smaller than expected. Small toilet, shower worked great. We never met any staff on our 2 night stay but would definitely stay again.

I need to start by telling you that when we arrived at the lodge we found faeces in the toilet. Absolutely disgusting, and with no staff on site for support, we had to Llantrisant ourselves. A quite unacceptable start to our short break.

Do not expect too much from these lodges. Even though we did know we had to bring our own bedding, pillows etc, and the fact there were no cooking facilities in the lodges, at £100 per night, I still feel this doesn't give any where near value for money.

On our second morning, we, and many others were wakened at 6am by by a barking dog, and a young child running about outside shouting and laughing. Again with no staff on site for support, this went unchecked.

There was a bar/restaurant on site but this did not open during our stay.

There were positives though. The location and the general appearance of the site were great.

I won't be returning.

Location is the best part of Skye Lodges, they are certainly not lodges, they are sheds!! We booked for 2 nights, thought they would be perfect, warm base for exploring Skye. We were absolutely frozen on our 1st night, very small electric heater which was very inadequate, very little pressure in the shower & no heating at all in it! No facilities apart from a kettle on a rickety unit that u had to move to plug in the kettle. Bed was also uncomfortable so much so we didn't even stay the 2nd night! Skye was wonderful yet again which is more than can be said for the sheds! Don't waste your money is my opinion.

Perfect location for everything we wanted to go see and do. Bit small but spotless, unfortunately the bar area was closed while we were there but would definitely return. Stayed in lodge 11. This is a dog friendly place

My husband, 2 boys (aged 5 & 6) and I stayed in a family cabin. It was small but very nice. It all looked brand new and very clean. The shower provided nice hot water. My parents traveled with us and had a lodge with one bed so they also had a kitchenette and a sitting area. There is a playground that my boys appreciated. The restaurant had just recently opened when we stayed and we were totally impressed. Service was nice and quick, coloring stuff for the kids were provided. The food was really good, especially the Steak and Ale Pie. Overall we really loved it here and wish we could have stayed more than one night!
