Excellent place - easy parking, sparkling clean throughout, and lots of little extra touches eg. Toiletries and bug spray, use of the tumble drier, maps and guidebooks to borrow, and more. However, the main ‘WOW!’ is the breakfast - better than most 5* hotels, incredibly varied, and cooked to order by a trained chef. The hosts are charming and accommodating, and place is altogether extremely comfy and incredible value for money. Stay here rather than one of the hotels any day!

While doing a tour of harbours in the highland region, my travel department booked me in here.
Stuart and company made me feel totally relaxed and extremely welcome over two nights in exceptional comfort.
Breakfast was as good as I have experienced in any hotel / B&B I’ve stayed in anywhere.
I have no hesitation recommending this establishment as a great place to stay.
Sadly I had to move on to a place that doesn’t live up to Gleann An Ronnaich standard.
I can assure you that I’ll be back 🙂

This is, without doubt, the best bed and breakfast accommodation I have ever stayed in. I was immediately made welcome, as a solo guest I was given the ground floor room with adjacent private shower room which contained all the toiletries any guest would ever need. (There was bathrobe if needed). My room was very comfortable, the shower was excellent and breakfast had to be seen to be believed. There was an ample selection, and more, and every guest had the freedom of two large fridges which contained all the fruit juices, milk, fruit and cheeses imaginable. It was a case of help yourself to whatever you need includintg tea, instant or ground coffee and the use of two toasters to toast various breads. The location was excellent with only a fifteen minute walk to the town. There was ample car parking space for the number of guests. Stuart has hospitality down to the finest art.

There are only 3 rooms in this B and B, two upstairs for couples and one small room downstairs for a single person. The single was very small and the bathroom, though private, is down the hall, but since the place is so small, it was totally fine. The upstairs rooms are very spacious and have ensuite bathrooms. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water, unlike a lot of places we’ve found in Scotland. The whole place is spotless and there is in-room coffee, tea and cookies! There is a refrigerator, freezer and microwave at the top of the stairs that can be used by guests. The breakfast is fabulous, cooked to order, along with extensive choices of fruit, cereal, breads, jams, coffee and teas. Stuart and William are great hosts and very friendly. Stuart made our whole visit extra special by getting us an impossible-to-get-at- the-last-minute table for our anniversary at the Cuillin Hills Hotel, which is wonderful with a beautiful view of the harbor and has parking! My husband had a sprained ankle and wasn’t able to walk much and very few places on Skye have onsite parking. Thanks again Stuart! We highly recommend this gem but book early!

This cozy and friendly B&B is located about half a mile, uphill, from the centre of the town. Ample parking was available at the front.

Our room was big enough though the bathroom was on the small size. It had all the necessary amenities and spares. Lovely touches everywhere, with guide books and magazines provided or available from the mini-library on the landing. Bathrobes were also provided.

Stuart was particularly attentive and helpful. The breakfast, held in the spacious conservatory, had a plethora of dishes: cooked-to-order, cereals, porridge, all types of fruit (even blueberries and grapes), selection of juices, dozen or so of jams, yoghurts etc.

We had a very relaxing stay there.

There are not enough adjectives to describe this place. I think it was my favorite in our three week travel across Europe. The host, Stuart, was friendly and had an eye for detail. Our room was upstairs, no lift, this is a true B & B. You are sleeping in a bedroom with an attached bathroom in someone's home. Our room had everything we needed. We stayed two nights. Our room was serviced and new towels were supplied. I loved the sheep skin rug on the floor. The television had good channels. The breakfast was amazing. Stuart has you fill out a menu the night before and prepares your food just as you ordered. The breakfast room was well stocked with so many options as well as the "cooked" breakfast you are served. We enjoyed talking to the other guest and the host each morning.

This B&B is not as advertised! The tiny room up steep, narrow, dirty stairs, was cramped and stuffy. The bed linens were definitely not the crisp white ones you would expect. The house itself looked cluttered and not very welcoming. The decor upstairs had a huge wallpaper mural with a metallic horse above the bed. It was horrible! The owner, who was covered in horsehair, was rude when we told him that we would not be comfortable staying there. He told my husband and I that we could go f**k ourselves. We booked through Expedia, and they were not successful in communicating with the owner to approve a refund for two out of the three nights we stayed in Portree. Mind you, there was a huge influx of tourists, so I’m sure the owner was able to easily rebook the room, so he made out like a bandit! Fortunately, through a friend, we were able to book two nights at a beautiful B&B just 15 minutes outside of Portree.

What a fantastic place! We were here for three nights and would happily have stayed longer. Stuart was an amazing host and couldn't do enough for us. The room itself was lovely and was packed full of the kind of features you'd expect in an expensive hotel room. Breakfast was fabulous as well, so much food on offer and I can recommend Stuart's porridge which was delicious! The place itself is a short walk into Portree, so a great location. All-in-all, we would have no hesitation staying here again if we came back to Skye and would recommend GAR to anybody thinking about staying here.

This place was an absolute gem! The host, Stu, was incredibly helpful and happy to give lots of recommendations. I travelled solo and got the downstairs room to myself with exclusive use of the downstairs bathroom. The walk into the main area of Portree is about 15 or so minutes, which isn't bad at all. Very reasonably priced, and the host really went the extra mile to make everyone feel accommodated. I enjoyed my English breakfast on day 1 and my porridge on day 2. HIGHLY recommend booking here if you're going to Skye!! :)
