First time visiting Skye. We stayed there with our two young children and all had a fab time. Stunning views of Skye, lovely hosts who are very friendly and well equipped hostel. The ferry terminal is only a short walk away. We will definitely be back!

It pains me to have to write a review detailing such an unpleasant experience as I have been subjected to at the hands of this business. I phoned last week and asked if they had a private room for me and if so what the cost would be for a single person, I was asked when I was looking to...

Nice accommodations and close enough to the mallaig ferry to walk - which is nice for your first or last day on the island. However, it is fairly far away from pubs or grocery stores and many of the main attractions on Skye. It is the not in an ideal location if you do not have a car.

We had a wonderful stay at the Flora MacDonald hostel, and Peter is a very warm and kind host. The views from just outside the room are amazing. It's close enough to the ferry to walk (assuming you don't have large amounts of luggage). Great accommodations for the price!

A typical classic hostel with old but functional furnitures, it has a interesting fireplace as well. The owner, peter, is very friendly and funny. The view is very spectacular with amazing lake view while the facilities is proper enough. The wifi coverage could be improved though, and this hostel is located in a quite distance from famous attractions in isle...

Our stay at the Flora Macdonald Hostel was simply great. Peter is such a lovely person and the hostel offers everything you need to have a cosy evening after a day outside: clean toilet and kitchen, really cosy beds and linens and a really great view with horses in front and the ocean in the background. We had a fantastic...

This is the first time I have stayed in an hostel so I don't have anything to compare it with. However I found the beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped, lovely long lounge with the aforementioned views. I enjoyed my chats with the owner, Peter. I would like to mention that the reviewer of 28.9.14 must have been reviewing another place....

Good points: 1) En suite toilet and shower in each dorm. 2) Separate male and female dorms, for those worried of mixed dorms 3) View to die for, facing a water body. We missed it when we checked in, because of the weather, so pleasantly surprised the next morning, when the sun was shining bright. 4) Owners were nice and...

“This review is for the main dormatory facilities, if you are willing to pay extra there is a 4 bed dorm and a private room in another building, both self-contained - we didn't see these to comment on them.”
