What a wonderful and all too short a stay we had with Christine and Kevin at their beautiful home, Garybuie.

As a rushed booking a couple of days before a flying visit to Skye, our expectations were not high for our chosen overnight accommodation, given the very reasonable price. But what a fabulous place! Tucked away along a narrow lane, it felt like the peace and tranquillity of the Glen where Garybuie is located just wrapped around us as soon as we stepped out of the car.

A very warm greeting from Christine and Kevin and we were shown to a gorgeous room with a lovely comfortable bed (so welcome as we'd driven a lot of miles that day), and a small, but perfectly adequate en suite with a good shower. Christine advised on local restaurant options and we had a delicious fish supper at The Galley nearby (if you like your seafood, their platter looked incredible!).

Up early after a great nights sleep (the silence is blissful), down for breakfast, and what a treat! Eggs fresh from the hens that roam freely around the gardens, the homemade bread and preserves were just delicious and a perfect start to the day.

Christine and Kevin were perfect hosts and such a lovely couple, we chatted and laughed for an hour or so before leaving, with Kevin also giving what turned out to be fantastic advice for our route back to the mainland.

Simply delightful and we highly recommend a stop at Garybuie if you're visiting the area. Thank you, Christine and Kevin, and our very best wishes. Mark & Fiona.

Position: wonderfully secluded a 10km away from Uig
Room: just fine
Breakfast: simply great
Value-for-money: excellent!
Real added value: the wonderful host couple! we just spent one night there but during breakfast we had the chance of a long chat with both hosts; the husband is simply a great carachter making us laugh telling about real-life-stories about wintering over there but with a beautiful Anglo Scottish sense of humour

A really pleasant stay fully consistent with B&B approach and spirit! Great!

What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed one night on our way to the Outer Hebrides. Kevin and Christine were so nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. It’s quiet and away from the fray that can be Skye. Loved the art in our room, the chickens and the cat. And we took a nice long walk up the lane in the evening. Kevin even shooed us out after breakfast so we wouldn’t miss our ferry. Before staying here I really wasn’t interested in going back to Skye because of all the people, but staying here has changed my mind. I’d go back now.

As a worldwide pandemic rages and flights and ferries are cancelled, 1000's are dying. Through no fault of our own, our holiday plans to Uist have had to be cancelled. We offered to move the booking to next year - as the ferry company and our self-catering property were both happy to do, but not Garybule - no refund. Not a penny!
I have run a self catering property for 11 years and have given every guest a full 100% refund - it's not their fault?
My airbnb is also offering 100% refunds. Shame on you.

This B & B is situated way off the main road and down a tiny road which serves only a few houses so is ultra quiet. We had a lovely room with a beautiful view and the bathroom had large thick and soft towels - a rarity I find. Christine and Kevin were ultra friendly and welcoming and were happy for us to use their conservatory cum breakfast room to eat our already purchased dinner. Breakfast was served early as we had a ferry to the Western Isles to catch and it was delicious with varied choices and included home made bread and jams.

Wonderful. Just wonderful. My girlfriend and I went here August '12 and were blown away by every aspect of this place.

First off, it's cute beyond words. The breakfast area is a perfect start to every morning and unlike must B&Bs there, they give you a special in addition to the traditional Scottish breakfast, but always delicious. Lovely.

The location is ideal. It's nestled in a small valley near Uig and has a bit of a fairy tale feel. The room was large, clean and cozy. Slept like a log, every night.

Now the folks that run the place. By the end of our trip we felt that Kevin and Christine became more that just hosts, but perfect friends. They were informative, smart, great sense of humor and made our stay a period that we will cherish for a long time to come... until we return, that is.

Don't look any further. This is where you must try to stay. It's very affordable and there's no place like it. I already envy you.

We loved this place. It was our first stay here (and may not be our last). It is off the beaten track but in a lovely location.

The hosts were very pleasant, friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day.

I'd highly recommend this b&b.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before catching the ferry to Lochmaddy. We were in Room 1, a twin bedded room facing the front with a beautiful view of the nearby hills. It’s very rural, about a mile off the main road to Uig, lovely and quiet.
Our room was bright and tastefully decorated, nice bedding and large fluffy thick towels. Adequate sized bathroom with a good hot shower. Kettle, tea, coffee and milk are provided in the room. Excellent WiFi. There is no television in this room.
Christine and Kevin are excellent hosts with lots of local knowledge and made us feel very welcome in their home.
Our breakfast the next morning was a Garybuie Stack, made up of egg, bacon, haggis and black pudding on an English Muffin. Very tasty and well cooked, they do have a Vegetarian option for the haggis. Christine makes her own bread which makes great toast along with homemade preserves. We had our breakfasts early as we were catching the 9.30am ferry but the terminal is only 10 minutes drive away.
We would definitely return to this lovely B & B. Recommended.

I've had some awful experiences with accommodation in the last 5 weeks (and some excellent ones). Garybuie was one of the good ones. Big, clean and nice room that actually has room for bags and two chairs. Add to that a proper ensuite and an excellent host makes this a great little B & B.

Garybuie is a perfect place to stay in Skye, five minutes from Uig in the north of the island. Excellent homemade breakfast and friendly hosts. We also ordered the diner and it was delicious. Highly recommended.
