I'm going to be honest beforehand, I am more a hotel person than a B+B person, however we decided to book B+B this time around.

The grounds in which the B+B was on were immaculate and tidy. Beautiful surroundings overlooking the sea and ferry terminal. Lovely walks with lots of greenery and wildlife to spot (Birds and Seals, and there had been sightings of Otters).

The B+B is a 5 min drive to the nearest town were there are restaurants, and a few shops to chose from.

Inside the B+B the place was immaculate and spotless. Much cleaner than you would find in some hotels. It is obvious that the hosts spend much of their time maintaining the inside and outside to keep it in pristine condition. The room had a sea view and the private bathroom was like brand new and very very clean.

The hosts were extremely friendly and gave us a good Scottish welcome on arrival. We received tea and homemade cake on arrival which was delicious.

The area is very quiet (you cannot hear the ferry coming in) and the bed was comfy and no noise at all. The B+B has a sun room to sit in and read books, or just to rest. TV, WiFi, Fridge in room, and homemade chocolate to have in the room. Parking right outside the B+B. The host even took our suitcase into the B+B for us.

The breakfast was very delicious including the coffee.

I was glad to have booked B+B this time around. If you are a hotel person like myself, give this B+B a try. You will not be disappointed, we certainly were not.

Sandy and Margaret gave us a fantastic welcome, extremely accommodating, the accommodation was 5*+ could not fault Margaret’s attention to detail her standards are extremely high. Sandy had a fantastic knowledge of the area and it’s history which he was more than happy to share. In this hard time of COVID-19 we could not be more reassured by both Sandy and Margaret. We highly recommend this B&B on the island of Skye.

We stayed for two nights in early May. The property is well located with great views and within walking distance of two decent restaurants and a shop. Sandy and Margaret were very welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them. They have thought through all the little things and as a result pretty much everything you might want from a B&B is there. The bed rooms are of a very high standard as are the dining room and lounge that are for the use of the guests. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Cuil lodge for just one night, it was lovely and made me regret that we were only passing through and not staying longer. Everything was thought of, all the little details, including coffee and cake on arrival, amazing smelling soap, a fridge stocked with homemade chocolates. However all the bigger aspects of the stay were perfect too, comfy beds, delicious breakfast (lots of choice), lovely views and it was amazingly clean. The hosts were the definition of hospitable and it was a pleasure to stay. 5*s and I will be recommending it to everyone who needs somewhere to stay in Skye.

Covid precautions were also taken to ensure safety of the guests and owners at this time which was reassuring.

Margret and Sandy were the best we had 4 nights at Cuil Lodge do we ever want to stay anywhere else no we don’t. It was fantastic from start to finish, we were greeted and made to feel at home in their beautiful house. Our room was a double with beautiful views over the bay from both windows. In the silent fridge was fresh milk, water and two of Margaret’s home made chocolate bites not forgetting the home shortbread. Breakfast was the best ever nothing was to much trouble. The whole house was spotless.
We really hope we will be able to return soon, thank you again for making everything so wonderful and advice on where to go. The two Js

We stay at Cuil Lodge B&B in Uig for 3 nights. The place is beautiful, with great views to Uig harbor. It’s only 20 min drive to busy Portree, 5 min drive to Fairy Glen. There are 3 rooms, we stayed in the large double, which was very spacious and had a very comfortable bed. Everything is new, modern, clean and well appointed. The bathroom is also very spacious and it’s all new. The room is larger than what the pictures show, it has a desk, 2 nice one seater couch, a closet and a mini fridge. Delicious home cooked breakfast with plenty of choice, tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon and super friendly hosts Margaret and Sandy who shared lots of tips about the island. We were glad to have chosen Cuil Lodge as a base for our 3 day Skye driving trip and will certainly stay here again.

The Cuil Lodge B&B is an ideal location from which to enjoy the beauty of Skye but also the perfect location for an overnight stay prior to taking the ferry to Tarbert for the Isles of Harris and Lewis. The accommodation and facilities are excellent, en suite, mini fridge, coffee machine, TV, bathrobes, hairdryer; bed and bedding top rate.
Everything about Cuil Lodge is of the highest standard, scrupulously clean and in perfect order throughout.
Breakfast was a real treat, great choice perfectly cooked and presented.
Our hosts Margaret and Sandy were warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they made our experience really extremely and memorable. Can recommend the Lodge to all with complete confidence that they would have a great stay !!

A wonderful stay, with the friendliest hosts we’ve ever met, very comfortable stay with all amenities covered! Excellent freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choice. The B&B itself is set in a picturesque location close to the ferry terminal. The B&B has Several comfortable sitting areas outside of your room with excellent views. Margaret and Sandy were extremely welcoming and kindly provided beverages and home made cakes on our arrival! Lovely chocolate gifts left in the room.. such a nice touch. Great experience and would highly recommend to anyone, we would come back again for sure!

Margaret and Sandy are the perfect hosts. We were welcomed after a long, rainy drive from Fort William and although only staying one night (our poor organisation) we were relaxed in a beautiful location with all boxes for the perfect B&B ticked: a fridge in the bedroom, an ingenious (I have bought one) box extension for all charging needs and no lost cables. An amazing view and a customised breakfast for our drive back the following morning. The Uig Hotel was recommended by them for dinner and a short walk got us there. A lovely albeit short stay but we will be back. And Staffa the dog made us very welcome.

Our first stay but definitely not our last. A very warm welcome from Sandy, Margaret & Staffa to their beautiful b&b with stunning views out to sea. The decor and furnishings are of high quality and are extremely tasteful. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Lovely soft white towels and crisp white bed linen. A very comfy mattress which is a major plus. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection all freshly cooked. Margaret's home made granola was delicious. So too were her homemade shortbread and chocolates in the room. It was a winner for us as soon as we walked in through the door but all the extra home-made touches, together with the friendliness of Sandy, Margaret & Staffa, were the icing on the cake.
