I've eaten quite a few times here, mostly very good, but they must be having a bad patch as the (expensive) fish and chips I was looking forward to turned out to be so greasy as to be virtually inedible. Flat, pasty batter, and when pressed with a knife the grease oozed out of it. Limp skinny chips and a...

Next to the ferry terminal in Tarbert, an ideal spot to enjoy a pre-ferry meal and free WiFi. The menu was extensive, the portions generous. Toasted goats cheese sandwich with pesto and olives, accompanied by coleslaw and chips in a basket was very good for £11. Excellent very clean toilets with a choice of raised or non-raised seat, quite brilliant...

Stayed for 3 nights. We were given a family room on the first floor. Spacious, comfortable and clean with good sized bathroom - the only snag we encountered was that the shower temperature (from mixer taps) was difficult to get right and kept changing throughout your shower. One minute you were fine, the next either scalding hot or freezing cold....

A comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff in both the dining room and the bar. Reception were very helpful in resolving difficulty getting into our room which was good once we got there! We really loved both West Harris for the huge beaches of pure white sand and East Harris for the rocky craggy hills and cliffs, excellent walking country....

Food is our Passion "From the hand dived scallops of East loch Tarbert to the local lamb from the windswept machairs in Lewis. The Hebridean larder has much to offer our guests. Quality local and ethically sourced produce is our mantra." This is what is stated on the Hebrides Hotel website, along with photos of beautiful plates of food. I...

Good accommodation, stayed for two nights whilst on a cycling trip, food good, would advise the seafood pizza, lovely and reasonably priced too. Wee bit of noise from the bar area but it is a small hotel, no issues, would go back, no problem.

Good location next to pier, but expensive for a small twin room, though limited hotel rooms in Tarbert (only 1 other hotel). Clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast menu. A pity smoking permitted in entrance porch to hotel, so you have to excuse yourself to pass between the smokers on way in, also meaning rooms at front noisy with...

I spent a couple of nights here recently. Having read the reviews of Tarbert's two hotels I tried to book at the Tarbert Hotel as there seemed to be a noise issue at the Hotel Hebrides, however they were fully booked for one of my nights, so Hotel Hebrides it was. It turned out to be very much better than...
