3 guys on a hill-walking trip, we stayed at Number 5 for 4 nights in May 2017. Very good facilities with a really homely feel (we were in the cottage, and had a 4-bedded bunk room to ourselves, and a 5% discount for a "long stay"!) The sitting area, coal burnijng stove, and kitchen were cosy and well equipped. We...

We, family of 4 adults, stayed here 29th April -1st May, we've been in other hostels and No 5 is up there at the top. The welcome from Alyson was lovely and her hostel is clean, well equipped and had a nice island feel. We ordered breakfasts both days to save taking to much with us, we would definitely recommend...

A great hostel. The location is brilliant, with beautiful views over the water. We were even lucky enough to see a Sea Otter walking on the shore line and swimming in the sea. The hostel itself is spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable. We stayed in a en-suite room. The owner was helpful and approachable. Wifi wasn't good, but that...

Clean, cozy, well-equipped hostel in a beautiful location by the sea. Alyson was very welcoming and knowledgeable, and accommodated my last-minute reservation. It's well-worth the trip to stay in one of the loveliest hostels I've encountered in all my travels.

Had stayed in this place a year ago. Its a place just as good as it can be. Its just next to the sea. Well maintained and well equipped. The rooms are adequately big but the room which we stayed didn't have bath room, but the common bath was clean and nice. It had good kitchen with all the required...

Loved this place!!! Found online, and booked the same day. Such a special place with really lovely atmosphere. We travelled here in the hope to camp, but unfortunately it was too rainy/windy. But thankfully it lead us to this place! We stayed in a lovely little cottage, sharing it with one other couple. We walked in and the fire was...

We stayed here as part of our cycling tour of the islands. We were lucky to book a twin room and was provided with bedsheets, towels and sole access to the shower. The wifi was intermittent and was not working on our final day. We were able to use the dryer for a price of £3. The nearest put is...

This was my second stay at No. 5, a lovely stone cottage with magnificent sea views, run by Allison and her father Roddy. The cottage comprises 2 twin rooms and bathroom upstairs, and a 4 bed (bunks) room with en suite on ground level. The living area is very comfortable with a cosy woodburner and the kitchen has a huge...

I spent ten days walking, touring the island by bus, meeting new people and found No 5 an excellent place to set out from. My room was clean and bright, the staff nice and it's only five minutes by bus to shops and restaurants although you're surrounded by moors and the sea. I'd recommend it to anyone!
