Convenient location for both Edinburgh and Glasgow, hotel is undertaking building works. Not attractive from outside and inside us dated. Staff were brilliant.
Room was fine, one of the 2 single beds pushed together had seen better days. Good choice of pillows. Breakfast was very good, Debbie very happy and smiley. Evening meals had highlights (cajun chicken, cheesecake)
A decent place to rest your hard after a day travelling

Hotel was clean and tidy. Room was basic but clean. Disappointed by lack of plugs in room -we had one. Pressure in shower was pretty low but was able to get the water nice and toasty.
Breakfast was nice , good selection and the coffee was delicious. People going up to get juice etc without masks (these people wore masks when they first came in) was slightly worrying
Would definitely come back to hotel , but only if I could get a room with a bath.

My family went here for our Christmas dinner and it was a complete shambles. There were two sittings and we were booked into the second one at 3.30 pm. When we arrived we had to stand in the hotel reception for over half an hour with the rest of the people who were booked in for our sitting. When we were eventually seated our table was in an characterless extension with only one window which had the blind closed. There were quite a few tables seated in the extension and it made for a fairly cramped and claustrophobic atmosphere. It took a long time for someone to come and take our order and a considerable length of time for our starter to arrive. In fact there were long gaps between every course, possibly of up to 30 minutes. The waiting staff didn't seem to know who had ordered what however the Irish waiter who served us was probably the best thing about the whole experience. He was lovely and apologised to us for the debacle that was unfolding. The six people at our table received their main course in two lots of 3, the first three having almost finished their food before the other 3 got theirs. Other tables were also complaining to staff about the lack of organisation. The food was ok when it came but it wasn't anything special. My wife got one single roast potato with her main course! We left the hotel at 7.30 pm meaning the whole dinner had taken 4 hours instead of the 2.5 hours the first sitting had taken. I don't normally go out for Christmas dinner as I much prefer having it at home with the family. Our experience at the Cairn didn't do anything to make me change my view. In fact it absolutely reinforced it. I don't think I'll be returning.

My wife and i stayed here on Saturday 24th September 2022 in order to be close to the wedding venue The Vu,
Reception and checking in could have been better. Our room 105 was not worth the price we paid, there was a very noisy kitchen extractor fan located right outside our window, the bed was hard lumpy small and uncomfortable and there was only one small packet of shortcake biscuits on the complimentary tea and coffee tray.
FOOD: well that was an experience, we asked at reception if we would need to book for dinner and were told no, we got a different answer from Mr happy at the "restaurant" then the waitress just took our order all very confusing.
The food itself left lots to be desired, The belly pork starter came on a plate of Very hot spicy sauce which killed any tastebuds i had which was probably just as well because the Chicken korma was like a plate of unchewed vomit. The Chicken was inedible and chewy and the "korma" sauce was still powdery and vile.
Never again would i stay here .

The room was modern and clean, with tea and coffee making facility. No iron in room. Bathroom ensuit also modern and clean.
Food in restaurant was average and service was standard, although one younger waitress a little rood. The lady who hosted breakfast was lovely and pleasant in the morning.
Overall ok for a business trip wouldn’t rush back.

We had a one night stay here and can’t fault it at all!
Check in was simple and the gent was super friendly and helpful. We were in room 33 which was on the ground floor, looked to be recently renovated and couldn’t fault it at all. Possibly one of the largest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in.
We had an evening meal in the hotel and enjoyed it very much. A nice choice on the menu and a grey mat two courses for £14 offer. The buffet breakfast was also enjoyed by us all.
Overall a great stay and would return!

Called In to have some food, food was awful, barely cooked chips, warm soup, and served by an abrupt waitress. Our plates went back half full, no questions asked! They are obviously used to their food not being enjoyed by the diners.
Won’t call back there again. And wouldn’t rate it as somewhere inviting to eat.

Comfy room, easy distance from airport.
Check in staff were great.
We were only there about 9 hours in total.
Shame breakfast, not even tea of coffee could be arranged for a 6.30 departure. It was included in the price and could not be deducted from bill.

Hi, they are not to dear.If anyone is drinking Wine it is cheaper to buy a bottle. We bought a bottle of wine and a Tia Maria and Diet Coke ( draft ) and it was nearly £20. Hope this helps. Have a great time at the wedding.
Yes, it is always safer to do so.
