Very nice hotel in a charming country house. Could do with some more money spent on it - but these old houses can be greedy so not unusual an, overall, its condition was not an issue. Located by the loch side at the end of a very long single track road giving the impression of isolation but actually within good...

We treated ourselves to a weekend away and drove to the hotel on Friday night, the last 10 miles of the drive was on single track road so we wondered where on earth we were heading. On reaching the hotel it looked warm and welcoming which it certainly was. The main hall is where the reception desk is tucked away...

The hotel was in lovely surroundings which we enjoyed. The food was very good but the after dinner experience was poor as there were no fires lit and it was somewhat cheerless. The room was very small and in need of upgrading. Perhaps as we were on a deal it was not typical. One night was enough

We loved our short stay in this hotel we had a room at the front with only a bath which was beautifully furnished in a traditional style. I would have liked a shower if I had been staying longer. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice both hot and cold, fresh juice fruit ect., In the evening we...

Recently stayed in this beautiful hotel and had the most relaxing couple of days . Food was first class with plenty choice and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Rooms very comfortable with all toiletries provided. Scenery was scenic and a short drive into Oban town.

I stayed with my 2 teenage children and we all loved it and wished we had been staying for longer than one night. It is a bit out if the way and you wonder if you are on the right track but well worth it, can't fault anything and will be going back.

We had a lovely relaxing stay just before christmas. Open fire, nice full gantry, a comfy bed and hot shower all made twice as good by the beautiful location. Our value for money was good as we stayed on a winter deal but I was less than impresssed with the frayed and to be honest dangerous carpet leading to our...

We only stayed one night at the Ardanaiseig Hotel but wished we had booked longer. We came here directly from Gleneagles Hotel and were expecting a bit of a come down from the 5* luxury ,but not a bit if it. We were wowed from the first glimpse of this magical hotel. We were made to feel very welcome at...

As part of our Christmas gifts our family gave us a voucher for a one night stay at Ardanaiseig and we decided to add an additional 2 nights at the time of my husband's birthday in February. We had not been in this area of Scotland for many years and we were delighted at the opportunity to revisit the area....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a quiet place of undisturbed tranquility and almost surreal natural beauty, where the slopes of Ben Cruachan fall into the clear waters of loch Awe, lies a deeply romantic and luxurious old country house called Ardanaiseig. In a 19th-century manor house on 120 acres beside Loch Awe, this luxury hotel is 21 miles from the ruined Kilchurn Castle and 22 miles from Ben Cruachan. Elegant rooms offer loch or garden views and feature antique furnishings. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities, and designer Scottish toiletries. There is also a separate glass-fronted loch side Boatshed suite and a 2-bedroom cottage. An acclaimed restaurant serves upmarket, seasonal dishes. Full Scottish breakfast and afternoon tea are available, and other amenities include boat rentals, croquet and bikes. ... more   less
