Popped in for a drink and hoped for bar supper but sadly kitchen is being refitted. Rather than blankly leave us hungry the new owner drove us to a nearby hotel - as there were no taxis - where we ate. He kindly offered to pick us up if there were still no taxis. So....still no taxis available after dinner...

Stopped in for a few drams and to warm up. Nice fire and quaint place. Friendly locals and staff. Definitely would go back! Has a very old feel inside but so tidy and spacious. Make sure to give it a visit when you are in town!

Well honestly this is pretty dreadful; no food, no real ale and only one lager. However this was only £3.20 which must be considered an absolute bargain for Scotland. There is an outside seating area for smokers but you can't get at it from the pub and have to walk down the road. However there is always two sides to...

I visited for drinks with friends on a weekend evening. There was no food being served which was a disappointment but there was also a lack of basic drinks at the bar. Service was slow with a lot of time spent waiting to be served even although the bar was not that busy. A member of staff who turned out...

Dear 2014eagle-eye, Would I be correct in thinking that your party was of 3 ladies in total asking for Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio? With an order of two alcoholic drinks and one non-alcoholic drink in the end. If this is the correct group please respond to confirm, and I will try and resolve the matters listed above as best...

The room was simple, clean & neat. The bathroom is dated but also clean & powerful shower. The bar is welcoming & serves amazing food, a good range too. They serve a real ale alongside the usual draft beers. Breakfast cooked to order was ample & tasty.

Well I am very sorry to say I have never frequented a place so terrible in my entire life. The barman was pleasant but that's all the positivity I sadly can give. We went yesterday (4th Feb) for a look at the place as we were in Inveraray for a visit and decided to go that bit further to see...

Dear sue barker, We are sorry your visit in February 2016 did not meet your expectations. As new tenants who took over in July 2016 we have addressed several issues you have mentioned. We feel the toilets are now of a far far better standard, and are awaiting a full renovation to the exterior of the building, hanging baskets with...

The staff is very nice and friendly, food was brilliant, good size rooms. Nice and central for the town, on the bus route if you want to go to other places nearby. I would recommend it to others, and would go again if we planned to go to the west again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Blair and Steven welcome you to The Argyll Inn, a wee gem in the heart of Argyll. Our main bar is a lively, sports oriented bar with snooker table, darts board and serving an array of popular drafts, bottles, and spirits, as well as soft drinks. We are open 11am - 1am daily, 7 days a week. With almost weekly events, we are sure that you will enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and great caric from our staff and locals alike. Come and sit a while by the log fire, have a dram & relax. The Argyll Inn is undergoing a period of substantial renovation, including a full new kitchen and construction of a lounge bar next door to the main bar. Here we hope to offer a wide range of speciality whiskies, bottled craft beer and a low key atmosphere. We hope to cater to the discerning punter who enjoys a quieter place for a drink, soundtracked with regular acoustic sessions from local and not so local musicians. Out room offerings are a combination of single, double, twin and family rooms which can accommodate any type of guest. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable and are suitable for those who are looking for a stop over in Lochgilphead at great value. Currently we are offering room only rates but once our kitchen is up and running at the end of August we will offer B&B and dinner packages. ... more   less
