We had planned to stay here for two nights in off season (November), we entered the restaurant and were met by who I assume from the other reviews was Katie. She didn't introduce herself so we had a bit of an awkward introduction explaining why we were there. Oddly, Katie told us that there was no key for the room... More

I can't understand why some people have issues with the ariundle centre. For the price, it's an excellent deal. The food is made fresh from scratch and really is miles above the food you get in the village pubs/hotels, which is generic pub fare and cooked from frozen. the bunkhouse is what it says, a bunkhouse, and for the money... Unfortunately I have to agree with other reviewers who had issues with the place. Obviously has been a nice place at one time but standards seem to have slipped. A good clean, some new bedding and mattresses would make a huge difference. Sadly I wouldn't stay there again. I do hope conditions improve in the future as it is a lovely... More

Just back from 2 nights at Ariundle bunkhouse. We stayed there in July three years ago in the middle of a glorious heatwave and had lovely memories of the place which made last weekend’s visit even more disappointing. Turned up at around 3:30pm on Friday to be told that our room for 4 people wasn’t yet ready. This wasn’t a... More

Glad other reviews here confirmed my experience. Any people giving good reviews must need to go to specsavers! Filthy rooms, thread bare sheets, in fact rags, no lock, tv not working, we weren't expected, rude Katie, no towels as requested, wasn't allowed to complained, told to leave, made it seem that I was the first ever to have complained, utterly... The bunkhouse itself was not a great place to stay although we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. Touring on bikes, we arrived looking forward to a warm room and shower. The heating wasn't working, the showers were a trickle and the rooms were filthy. Kate the owner has a very short manner and was unsympathetic. She did, however, light... More

This was a terrible experience. I found the lady running the place to be rude and unfriendly. She thought I was being fussy when I complained about the showers not working and also the beds were not made and still had the last occupants messed up bedding. In general the place was quite dirty and the kitchen is tiny. I... More

Discovered this wee gem by accident and stayed 2 nights while exploring the wilds of Ardgour. Lovely comfy twin room with en-suite facilities in a well heated room with a TV for £20 a head! Then had excellent home cooked meal with great variety on the menu which suited both my carnivore pal and veggie me. An exceptionally friendly and... More

On arriving at the centre we were greeted by friendly staff who took us to the bunkhouse and showed us around. It was clean, neat and spacious, and the room we were given was well appointed. the TV was an unexpected bonus and not something I was looking for anyway, but proved handy for getting weather forecasts. We returned to... More

We stayed there for 4 nights in March. The centre is located in the beautiful Ariundle woodlands of Strontian. Its a 20 min. walk to the town centre. Kate is a very friendly forthcoming lady and a superb chef. We had supper there every night because her home cooked food was so delicious! The breakfast was lovely as well, the... More
