Recently been staying in Rothesey and had a coach excursion around the Isle of Bute. The scenery had been spectacular when our driver stopped at The Kingarth Hotel for our coffee break. We were not expecting to find such a lovely Hotel/Restaurant in the middle of nowhere! We were welcomed in the bar and served our coffee/tea and were tempted...

Great service from start to finish, waitress polite and welcoming. Lovely pub, clean and comfortable. Menu for every taste. Pudding to die for! All of our party would return. Made a great end to our wonderful stay in Bute.

We arrived for Sunday lunch. They were busy! We were made comfortable and staff were very attentive. Food was great. Specials board had some unusual choices ... I especially liked the taster deserts. It was interesting to watch the manager look after the table next to me who (to my eye) were never, ever going to be happy ! Very...

Eaten here before - hence the revisit. A lovely day for some cool drinks and lunch of lamb burgers on open wheaten buns with salad relish and delicious chips...add in some cleverly sited seats and tables to make the most of the view to Cumbrae and your onto a winner. Will eat here again......very nice food, lovely location and pleasant...

The Bute Cycling web page recommends stopping at this hotel . In addition when passing on the Tour bus I noted the signage on the road side and hotel wall stating food served all day . This morning I set off from Rothesay via Scalpie Bay , looking forward to my coffee stop at Kingarth. I discovered that no staff...

Twenty minute journey from centre of Rothesay. The town itself is short on good restaurants so it is worth the journey especially on a good day where you can sit outside, Good size menu food was good if a tad expensive but all in all a nice place to while away an hour or so over a bar meal

After visiting Rothesay and concluding we didn't see anywhere pub wise that looked appealing we got in the car and stumbled across the Kingarth. The girl behind the bar was very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Me and my wife both had bar meals, they where excellent quality and good value for money. I would definitely recommend this...

Lovely setting. Very accommodating and friendly staff, only let down by high prices and average food at best. It tries hard, but is let down on a few points. Firstly, PLEASE get rid of those damn redcurrants that are served with everything!!! Really, it got quite irritating when they appeared on everything from pork medallions to the cheeseboard! The local...

Excellent lunch. Fabulous food and service with a very welcoming atmosphere. A great menu including the 'specials of the day'. The outside looks good and the inside is nicer still, great ambience and comfortable. Well worth a visit, don't drive by!
