My stay was horrendous. The bedding was blood stained and filthy. The room looked like it had not been made up in between the last customers and us. No one was on reception as we arrived late went for a quick drink in the bar and we hadn’t noticed until we went to bed (around 10pm). We were then all kept up all night by drunk people next door and surrounding rooms. The doors were banging and I think he must have smashed his room up because the next banging was from the manager then the next from the police. My kids were really shaken up! We left early hours in the morning so there was no one on reception to complain to and was only a night Porter there who couldn’t help. I did try to ring the hotel but no answer. Sent an email and not even had an apology. There was no parking left at the hotel but we were late so that was just unfortunate. When your 11 & 12 year old boys notices how filthy a room is.. you know it’s bad!

Had the best night away for my friends hen do. Dinner was served fast for 15 of us and staff were so friendly and helpful. We were all starving after climbing the cobbler which is a 10min walk away. Breakfast in morning was also included. Staff went over and above to make sure we had a brilliant stay 😁 rooms were comfy and we got a good sleep. The entertainment in the pub was a great atmosphere and staff reminded us of covid rules 😅

We booked this hotel as a party of 4 just as a wee overnight after hearing some good things. I had read the reviews just before we came and i was a bit worried but there was no need. We arrived early, got our keys no problem and the reception staff couldnt have been nicer. Our room was maybe 1 of the less luxurious rooms being down stairs and to be honest was quite small but that was us not looking at options and just booking something quick to get away! Was clean enough and thats what mattered. There is more rooms on high levels with lovley views so next time we will keep that in mind! We booked the hot-tub (great feature) and spent our night in the hotel bar. The staff at this hotel are a credit to it..friendly and very accomodating from bar, reception and the breakfast staff they cant do enough which is lovley. We will 100% be back...do not let the poor reviews put you off. Its a wee hidden gem

We booked here after some recommendations and the reviews we didn't even read before going and I am glad we didn't. We had a great weekend We came here due to not being able to go away on a honeymoon and we can do nothing but praise the hotel staff reception staff and bar staff especially fiona and megan who went above and beyond and made our stay plesent and enjoyable. We arrived and checked in very quickly room was basic but clean and that's all that matters headed to the bar where Megan greeted us and recommended some nice cocktails which were amazing. We ordered some food again which was very nice. Staff were very helpful on recommending when we were looking for things near by. The hot tubs are an excellent addition to the hotel we loved being able to relax later at night with a few drinks. I would defo recommend booking these in advance to. We love it that much we've booked to go again next week.

Booked a 1 night stay on 05/06/21. The first room we got was absolutely infested with flies. Reception gave us another room but that hadn’t been made up since the last people left. The 3rd room we were given was on the 4th floor. The smell of mould when we got out the lift was unreal! The room we got also had mould in the corners and stains on the sheets and pillows. We didn’t stay for round 4, we left and came home.
