We kickstarted our honeymoon at Sunnyside, after shooting up the motorway from Bristol, en route to Islay. We needed a pit stop convenient to the Kennacraig ferry terminal. We phoned at 3pm to tell them we were arriving at 7pm, and wound up arriving at 8pm (!) but Lorraine and Frank were so lovely and accommodating. We were knackered from... More

From outside didn't look upto much but once inside our room was spotlessly clean, no chipped furniture etc. Breakfast was good in the morning. Thank you to the owners for having our room ready early so we could get changed for a wedding, greatly appreciated.

Thanks Muriel for your review by most parts its very fair apart from" outside didn't look up to much". I'm not sure what you meant by this. I'm sure having met you , your not being cheeky about what is primarily our private home before its a B&B. However I'm not sure what is expected for a 200 year old... More

I stayed here for two nights - attending a wedding at the Cruin. I had a single room - well done, there are not a lot of these around. The room was spotless, the en-suite too and plenty of fluffy towels. Breakfast was fantastic - it really starts the day well! Parking - no problem and a good restaurant a... More

My friend and I had three very enjoyable days in Balloch staying at the Sunnyside. The room was clean tidy and functional. It had great charm and a real homely feel. Breakfast was very good with loads to choose from, it included vegetarian. The owners were so kind and helpful it made us feel very comfortable.

Thank you for your review. I do remember you very clearly! I am sorry we were your last choice of accommodation as Balloch had no accommodation available, however I would have thought the pictures and description of our House/home on the internet would have been sufficient to see we are an average home doing B&B? As to the beds, please... More

Stopped here on way through Scottish road trip on motorcycles. Off road parking and chance for indoor bike parking courtesy of Frank. Simple but very comfy. 20 min walk into Balloch. Plenty fine for a night stopover. Comfy. Quiet. Safe. Would return. No bother.

Spent one night here on our way to Skye. Excellent hosts; Frank and Lorraine made excellent recommendations for dinner, provided good conversation and an excellent breakfast. Quarters were a bit tight but with enough room for us. Would definitely stay here again.

There were three men walking the John Muir Way and we booked a family room at the Sunnyside. It was made up for a family with children so there was a lot of cute kid stuff like bears, that did nothing to detract from the comfortable beds and nice bathroom. The room had room for our suitcases and was just... More

My husband and I were traveling through Scotland and didn't realize the last day of May holiday. We had driven from Skye, stopping at each B&B and hotel en route. All were full! We had been traveling/looking for 9 hours! Sunnyside B&B were also full, but the owners, Frank and Lorraine, invited us in to use their wifi while they... More
