We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was lovely and clean. The b&b is in a perfect location for the pubs, restaurants and the shopping centre. Breakfast was lovely every morning. I had the Scottish fry up, which was very nice, the porridge one day which was made perfectly, and the last day bacon pancakes and syrup it was... More

Everything about the Gowanlea is fabulous. Andrea's welcome is warm and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean, a really great size and more comfortable than some city hotels I've stayed in. The bathroom was excellent with a fabulous shower and again, was completely spotless. Fantastic value for money, particularly considering the breakfast quality and choice. Would really recommend the Gowanlea,... More

We had one night here as a stopover heading north. After a long drive we found Gowanlea to be a welcome and comfy place to rest and refresh. Our room was comfortable and clean with a large ensuite... And tartan carpet! There were several dinner options within a 5 minute walk and breakfast was as good as the other reviews... More

As Americans, we are visiting Scotland for 5 weeks. This is our ninth B&B and probably the best yet. Andrea is well organized in welcoming guests, maintains a very clean guest house, and provides a huge variety of breakfast choices. My omelet was large and delicious, enough to keep me going all day. The room is orderly, clean, and tastefully... More

Gowanlea Guest House is located exactly where you want it, the beds are great and the bath is super! Loved out stay here. Andrea was a wonderful hostess, the breakfast was yummy and we felt right at home. Our room had big large windows and the room was large and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and visit Balloch Loch Lomand!!

Very comfortable, very clean, great brekkie. Easy to find and Andrea was very welcoming and nothing was a problem. Stayed two nights as part of a cycling Trip and would definitely recommend. Storage for the bikes was great, some good pubs within staggering distance

We stayed at Gowanlea overnight when traveling to the Highlands, and after reading so many good reviews were very hopeful of a good stay. Our room was very clean, very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Some form of heating in the bathroom would have been appreciated as it was a cool wet night, but there was none - and the... More

Had a short and sweet one night stay here a few months ago. Our room was spacious with a very comfy bed, the bathroom was modern and clean, our host was very accommodating and breakfast was excellent! Would highly recommend, especially for such a reasonable price. Could not fault!
