we are in our early 50s and our daughte is 14, travelled up from London. This hotel is one of the best we have ever been to. Gorgeous simple rooms, fabulous menu, great friendly staff, wonderful views and walks. There is nothing about this experience which was less than perfect.

If you’re looking for funfairs and night life this is not the hotel for you but if you are looking for a great tranquil setting, comfortable rooms and great food then this is most definitely the place to be. The hotel is just off the beaten track at the edge of Loch Doine, along from the legend Rob Roy’s grave...

Myself and girlfriend attended my best friends wedding set in the very picturesque grounds of the Monachyle Mhor Hotel. The venue is just simply stunning, with views over the hills and Loch Voil in the background. A converted farm, it has the main farmhouse as the bar and dining area, with the steadings converted into bedrooms and a farmhouse barn...

Utterly fabulous location to chill out, relax, and be looked after. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Luckily we had glorious sunshine and sat out with a g&t, with the most perfect view. Our room was amazing, ( room 11), double baths, massive comfy bed, pristine and all you could wish for. Food was of a very high quality, awesome...

Beautiful food. Beautiful surroundings. Day spoiled by cost of wine £13 for a small glass. Most I have ever paid for wine anywhere - London, Edinburgh, Glasgow included. Resulted in our leaving without tipping the staff again a first ever. My mistake I did not check the wine list and apparently had 3 glasses of an expensive merlot which tasted...

Delightful, individual, comfortable, small hotel - with a fantastic restaurant. We had a new room in the Coach House - complete with wooden floors, rugs, cookery books to read, our own back door and a very fine bathroom. Warm and cosy, pristine clean. A highlight was some of the best attention to in-room coffee I've ever seen - an espresso...

We flew in by helicopter on this snow-crisp beautiful Spring day. They made fresh scones for us with delicious jam and cream, and we had our tea in a comfortable bright sitting room with a fire. The staff are all lovely people and the facilities are terrific. It was our first trip, but we'll be staying overnight next time. A...

The hotel is in an area of outstanding beauty - would like to have stayed longer to explore with our dogs. Dinner was out of this world - everything was delicious as...

Monachyle Mhor is situated 6 miles up a single track road. However do not let this put you off. Lovely views of the lochs and surrounding countryside. If you don't want to drive then just arrive in your helicopter - ours was in for a service the days we went !!!! Mywife and myself had two trips within the space...
