A wet dreich Scottish night was lit up by a stunning meal, beautifully presented in the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Monachyle Mor, where quality and service are much in evidence. Highly recommended for that special occasion!

This fantastic place has everything. In no particular order - style, remoteness, his and hers slipper baths, piglets in the yard, beautiful food, seriously attentive & friendly service, breathtaking scenery, a kitchen garden, dogs to befriend. Incomparable. They deserve the 5 star review but I fear if the secret gets out rooms may become difficult to come by. Oh and in...

This is a hotel that is totally unique in our experience . It is miles from the nearest tiny village, totally away from any kind of crowd. Even though the weather was harsh we still had some great walks, went clay pigeon shooting, and joined in a ceilidh all in one weekend. The food was good , some of it...

Beautiful location and the drive down the side of the loch really does set up your anticipation. Very helpful and attentive staff, delicious food and worth every penny for the meal as up there in my top 10. Nice atmosphere and not too formal or pretentious. It was also nice touch that when you leave to go back to your...

We took some friends with us on a joint wedding anniversary trip and stayed two nights on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. The location must be hard to beat within the UK (or even outside the UK) and everything else is simply first class. Our friends had never been there before and they were extremely impressed with the rooms,...

We recently stayed at Monachyle Mhor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated at the end of a very long loch side track, and the views across the loch are spectacular. Our room was luxuriously appointed and had his and her baths- a real showstopper feature. The food was outstanding and served by friendly and attentive staff. One...

We have stayed here before and after a flat tyre home on the way back from Tobermory and time getting on we decided to call and see if we could get a room for the night. Lucky for us as it was late in the day we were offered a feature room at the standard room price. The staff are...

My lady and I visited the restaurant in search of something special and delicious and trust me, we were not disappointed ! The setting is breathtaking and the building / decor is top class. The staff welcomed us in out of the cold and sat us in the bar area in front of a roaring open fire ! Here, the...

We visited Monachyle Mhor last weekend for lunch after a busy morning of sightseeing. The drive along to the hotel from Balquhidder is beautiful, the loch setting is so picturesque, the hotel itself is stylish but still has a cosy feel, there was a real fire burning in the small bar when we arrived. We both opted to have the...

After traveling a single track road 6 miles we came to the Mhor. It is quite expensive for what you get and would not recommend. The room we had was rather weirdly decorated with an animal skull on wall. Our rate included dinner which they tried to charge us for again when we checked out. The lounge is very small,...
