My husband and I came here for a meal one evening after several recommendations from friends. We left mildly disappointed. The starter failed to live up to expectations (rubbery scallops), main course was great but dessert also a hit and miss affair (mine was great, hubby's was awful -we ended up sharing mine). As it turns out there was a...

We were staying nearby and read some good reviews of this traditional old hotel. Ate in the BlueCoo Bistrot and luckily there were some nice choices on the specials board as the restaurant didn't seem to be serving the full menu, but just the bar menu. Tried the unusual 'haggis on flat bread' followed by the Monkfish, scallops and clams...

Stopped here by chance on way to our hotel in the borders . The food was delicious and tasty and reasonably priced . I had the steak salad and a side of sweet potato fries . It was delicious . Our friends were also delighted with their choices. It was quite busy . Staff were friendly and efficient . There...

Hotel is beautiful from the outside. Room was clean and had everything you would want in a room if ever so slightly dated. We booked a room with 2 dogs staying with us and while it's fantastic to find a hotel that will accomodate dogs, our room was in a main corridor and people were walking past all through the...

Set menu, bit steep for Mothers Day, had to have choose 2 course or 3 course, which was a rip off, how many older mums can eat that? There were 4 of us, 2 only had 2 course which was £22.50, big deal we got coffee instead, so was an expensive meal, which was the worst meal ever had, a...

Lovely busy atmosphere, extensive Mother's Day menu delicious dishes to choose from good value for money. Staff not smiley, lack of experience in some with busy service possibly training is required, "head waiter" very friendly. Dinner served very quickly and efficiently, tasted lovely, however 3 out of 4 had desserts and order was taken wrongly. Would recommend this establishment beautiful...

Stayed on short break for two nights. Room was good with all that you would expect, including tea and coffee facilities. Ate in restaurant both nights, range of choices although maybe rather restrictive if you are vegetarian but food was of a good quality, breakfast had a good range of choices. Staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Visited Jedburgh....... many...

Stayed for an overnight taking advantage of a Woucher deal to have short break not too far from home (Glasgow). The hotel is in a nice quiet location. The hotel has a nice seating area surrounding a fireplace, with books and boardgames available to use. There is a nice country style bar and a separate restaurant. Although we didn't eat...

We stopped here as a friend of ours got us a wowcher for Christmas. We were in a room with side eaves so that the room itself was tiny. There wasn't a lot of room around and it was quite claustrophobic. The window wasn't sealed properly so quite noisy and quite a draught. There was a blind but the curtains...

We travelled on the new Borders railway to get here. It's just lovely. Service is great, you can walk in to the village (unfortunately, most of the main road was being dug up when we were there, but hardly the fault of the hotel). If you are keen walkers or cyclists, it would be great (we're neither!).There are local buses...
