Booked for sister hotel Mount Stewart but the day before received a call to say they had double booked and could accommodate us in The Crown. We accepted as it was very near our visit. On checking this seems to happen frequently! The Crown was ok but very noisy especially at night with music on. Couldn't get to sleep until...

Whenever you go to Port Patrick you will note that this Hotel is much busier than those on either side. That is the clue. The food is good. The service is a little bit up and down - hence only four stars. But this may be because they are busy?? I have not stayed over so cannot comment on the...

We are lucky enough to spend a few days in Portpatrick each St. Patrick's day to celebrate my birthday. Top of the 'To Do' list is crab sandwiches at the Crown. On a very wet and chilly day a roaring fire and a great welcome, topped off with crab sandwiches, a [very good] portion of the most delicious chips and...

The reason for eating in an hotel albeit the Bar must be to eat food which taste better than that which you cook yourself. Sadly this was not the case in the Crown. I ordered venison casserole which came with boiled potatoes, carrots broccoli cauliflower and turnip, this was large portions, the venison was tasteless other than pepper, the vegetables...

Can't believe I haven't written a review of this place yet. My grandparents live in PortPatrick so I visit 5/6 times a year and it's rare that a visit occurs without a trip to The Crown. I often joke that if I was on death row I would request my final meal from here as the food is absolutely divine....
