Following my McDonell family ancestry back to Glengarry, the Castle Hotel was a fantastic place from which to do it. Beautiful surroundings, castle ruins in the grounds, helpful staff, great meals. It's not pricey when you consider the service you get.

My understanding is that dogs are allowed in certain (but not the deluxe) bedrooms. However, they're not allowed in most of the public areas including the dining rooms. And I've never seen any in one of those rooms but I... More
My understanding is that dogs are allowed in certain (but not the deluxe) bedrooms. However, they're not allowed in most of the public areas including the dining rooms. And I've never seen any in one of those rooms but I have in the corridors and outside.
Check with the hotel to be sure.
