Then there was the ifffy elevator, the rather deserted neighborhood, and non-working hairdryer. The location made it easy to get to local attractions. The staff was pleasant. That elevator was definitely uncomfortable!

We stayed at the Econo lodge downtown Memphis. It was with some trepidation considering previous reviews. Could not have been happier, very friendly and accommodating staff, nice large clean room, quality breakfast, I couldn't fault it and that was before considering the low Tarif . Thank you Econo Lodge.

We were traveling and wanted to see a lot of the tourist sites--this hotel was located in just the right spot for us. The staff was very good and so was breakfast. The pool was nice, but not heated. They also have the parking ramp attached.

1) No elevators. I can now leg press 500lbs from waking to floor 10 so many times. 2) Stairwell is public bathroom for homeless people 3) Thin walls are conducive to listening to 5AM frogging 4) Sheets stained with wine (hopefully!) 5) Did not see twins from The Shining, which was nice. 6) Staff was friendly, like strangers on a...

Everyone is complaining about the elevators. Obviously the owners are too tight to pay for the repairs. We knew ahead of time because we read Trip Advisor reviews. The price was 1/3 to 1/2 off the price of any other hotel that close to Beale Street. Knowing that, the room was clean enough to sleep in, breakfast was just ok,...

Location is good, like 4 blocks from Beale St. The elevators didn't work and I had 2 choices: climb the stairs to the 8th floor or tip a security guy to drive me through the parking ramp up to floor 7th. The hotel starts at floor 7 and up. Breakfast was the worst I ever saw. Dirty and not updated....

Memphis was pretty well booked the weekend we went & this was the only room available that met our needs. The rate seemed a little high for an Econo Lodge ($124), but it was pretty spacious. The elevators weren't working so they waived the parking fee, but we were on the 8th floor & the parking garage only went to...

We had booked online about a month prior to the day. when get checked in,they asked how we were going to pay. We thought we had paid at time of booking but they said no , it was just to hold room ,so we gave them the debit card in which we booked the room. After we paid,we were informed...

Really appalling. They never cleaned the room, sheets were not clean, we always had to ask fresh towels, breakfast was a joke. There was no service at the pool. Only good points: Wi-Fi & location near the Beale Street.

This was my greeting: "Yeah, the elevator is down. I don't have any king rooms left and you're on the 10th floor." My reservations were made over 60 days ago, confirmed with a king room. I drove three hours from Nashville and all it would've taken were a phone call. I could fill more paragraphs but I'll make this easy....
