This place is the family home of Christine and Alan and houses all their belongings (some of them beautiful) that they and their families have collected on their trips. However, the bedrooms are invaded by all their knick knacks and there is no space to put your own things either in the bedroom or the bathroom. The Hotel Inspector would...

To the amateur Hotel Inspectors!" Décor is subjective. Our website shows Plas Derwen Country House as it is :- don't like antiques and travel memorabilia- then choose somewhere else. If you have a problem with any of our facilities or hospitality please let us know during your stay and we will do all we can to address your concerns. To...

This is an old rectory set in beautiful surroundings. Christine and Alan are very friendly and welcome you into their quirky home. Lots of interesting things to look at in each room and they are very happy to tell you about each one. The place is very peaceful, and in the summer it would be beautiful to sit in the...

You can look at the B&B's website and peruse the pictures, you can read the reviews which always say "warm and friendly" or "a great welcome" or "scenery is outstanding" and all of that is great. But I'm going to say, "Plas Derwen Country House" is much more than that. Alan and Christine are definitely warm and friendly hosts. They'll...

Just a beautiful warm and friendly atmosphere. Christine and Alan really bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and at home. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend this B and B as a comfortable base for exploring beautiful N.Wales. Alan P from Montreal,Canada

A good location for sightseeing in North Wales. Set well back from the main road so very quiet. The owners gave a great welcome and had excellent knowledge of the area including scenic routes and eating establishments. The cold breakfast provided was excellent.

We love staying here - the scenery is outstanding viewed from the house. The hosts are always warm and friendly. The breakfasts are fantastic. We have stayed here many times over the past three years, whilst our daughter has been at Chester University. But hope to continue visiting purely for holidays.

A beautiful house with beautiful and well kept gardens and in a quiet location. We were made to feel very welcome by Alan and Christine. The rooms were very clean and well presented. Breakfast was lovely and not too early which suited us. Plenty of room for us and our one year old! Just be careful when exiting from the...

Bit difficult to find but the room was lovely and had a great nights sleep. Very annoying having to open and close the gate every time you come and go. Only me and another couple staying so very quiet with not a lot to do. Felt every time I moved the owner appeared and was far too quiet for me.

The photograph of the house, was obviously taken when it had been tidied up outside. Not quite the same now. Read the reviews of how lovely the house and contents were, erm, disappointed comes to mind. Breakfast was good, however, would I stay again?. . . No.

The couple who run this B&B run it more as a hobby than a business, so as long as you fit in with them, you'll have a good stay. Grounds, rooms and breakfast were all lovely. However we had a small disagreement over what B&B should provide - a front door key - and ended up with the lady shouting...
