Booked at the last minute, and they were very accommodating. Nice pleasant rooms (we had to move during our stay because of prior bookings), very comfortable beds. Nice location, pleasant bar, very nice breakfast all made fresh. Only quibble is evening meals- we ate there a couple of times and it was very nice, but they will only serve a... More

We stayed 2 nights in a first floor double room over looking the sea and castle. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and there were plenty of toiletries and a nice selection of items on the tea tray. The breakfast was filling and tasty and the bar and pool table were a lovely way to start our evenings.... More

Stayed in a family room sleeping 5. Room was lovely, lots of toiletries and tea and coffee making things! Even hot chocolate! We were on the top floor so not much of a view. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice. Lovely location... Castle right across the road and free parking. The only criticism was the shower. I don't think there was... More

We stayed a weekend at the marine hotel, the hotel hosts are very accommodating and polite. The manageress couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent. We had 2 evening meals that were absolutely delicious, I recommend the steak. I had family room which was lovely and clean and bathroom was also very clean. My brother and his wife also... More

We booked for 2 nights & they gave us the best room which cost £95.00 per night. The sea & castleview were lovely but the hotel & owners need a good makeover. I had the worst english breakfast of my life all burn't & uneatable. The owners wife was rude when asking for directions, the towels were stained & room not... More

A reasonable and average place to stay. I stopped one night whilst touring the coast. I did not book in advance and I did go out of season. One night bed and breakfast was good value for money. The owners were very pleasant and service was good. Breakfast was reasonable. Room was pleasant, clean and tidy. The bed was not... More

We had a family room at the Marine hotel at the end of Oct 13 - Mum and dad + 2 cheeky chappies 6&8. Good value - This was just the ticket; comfie good food and plenty of it. Lovely couple Gaynor and Martin running the show - they couldn't do enough for us. Great position in the town -... More

As a last minute trip there were few hotels in the area with a twin room available, so choice was limited. Marine hotel is in a nice position near the sea & castle with parking opposite. Ours was a suite room with a sofa in the main room & the actual beds in a little room separated by french doors.... More

We had a Superior Room, with lovely views towards the castle & the sea. We saw dolphins on 3 days - wonderful! The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, with the softest plump pillows ever. The hotel was very quaint & charming, homely and extremely clean. The owners were very welcoming, kind and friendly and the food was very good. We... More

Gutted, or rather it needs gutting and starting again. One for the Hotel Inspector I feel... Our 'superior' room was laughable. An added feature was a damp patch on the ceiling with falling plaster. The decor was hideous - nothing matched. It most certainly was not worth the price - £86. The food was ok, again nothing special or worth... More
