This old hotel has had a recent makeover and is very clean and fresh looking in the public rooms. We had a very large bedroom on the first floor, overlooking the High Street. En-suite was a bit small with a walk in shower. Excellent large lift served all floors, but the hotel has a very grand staircase. Very good friendly... More

Best thing about this hotel was the shower! One had to ask for a bath mat for inside-nothing to step out on. Room reasonable-would have preferred the double bed to be left there-paid extra for a single room-side lights for a double. Do not expect fancy food-fish for dinner -fair-the best choice!1st hotel of any grade that I have stayed... More

Food was average and served far too early. No time for a lay down and a shower before dinner at 6.15 pm !!! I'm not one to criticise people who work in the hospitality trade coz it is a difficult profession but the Manager of this hotel is very grumpy. He shouldn't be in the hospitality trade. Needs to go... More

We stayed here with Alfa Tours and were very impressed . There were 3 tours in at once but you would not know it as meal times were staggered so when you sat down your water/ waitress was with you right away.
