Absolutely outstanding service and food! Excellent Gluten free options, we sat on the terrace with an amazing view of the sea front .
The hostess was so welcoming and friendly and discussed the entire menu with myself who suffers from coeliac disease.
Would recommend coming here for a pot of tea or even an overnight stay!
Nothing seemed too much trouble for them.

Amazing hosts!
After a devastating flood (believed to be caused by a guest) this place has had a complete makeover in the dining room ready for re-opening of the restaurant.
We were allowed to use it for our takeaway tea with amazing views over the bay.
There is a cafe 50 metres away offering breakfast from 8am if you need it.
The rooms were of a great size and whilst needing some modernisation, had everything you need and were very comfortable.
Highly recommended.

A pleasant stay at the Moelwyn. The staff were very friendly and really attentive- I had absolutely no problem here.
My disappointment lied within the hotel itself. The room wasn’t very clean at all, there were lots of little flies on the windowsills and on the bed it’s self. The bed sheets were clean but need replacing as there was pen marks, yellow stains and holes in the bedding- I also found a few hairs in the bed.
There was a very bad musty smell in the room which was very unpleasant when you walked in.
The breakfast was lovely, the chef would cook you anything you would like which I found great! However, the attention to detail lacked in the breakfast as the cutlery, mugs and glasses were all very dirty. I found the hotel felt a little run down and not welcoming in the main downstairs areas.
The hotel was in a beautiful location right on the beach front. Overall I had a pleasant stay at the Moelwyn, however the hotel is lacking that attention to details and the cleanliness is not that great. Thank you to the staff at the Moelwyn you were fab!

Called for a quick lunch on my 1st day in Criccieth and hhad delicious home made soup on a scone. However I saw the most amazing burgers going to the next table so I returned.
2 days later I returned and sat on the outside terrace overlooking the Bay the burger did not disappoint it was so tasty and yiu cooked tell it was homemade.
The ow we came snd chatted to me and eas so friendly and informative of the area.
The restaurant is a credit to this hard working family.

We wanted to stay in this area and the Moelwyn fitted the bill. We got on very well with the staff we met and enjoyed our stay: lovely cooked breakfast, comfortable quiet room and parking nearby. Above all the views are marvellous.
However, it appears to be a work in progress.
1. The carpet in our bedroom was very dirty and urgently needs deep cleaning.
2. The grout in our shower was mouldy in large patches.
3. Some options at breakfast were limited: three varieties of cereal, only strawberry jam. No fruit.
4. Some paint on our bedroom ceiling was pealing off.

I would love to return to see the finished product.

We were greeted with a comfortable bed, great views, a luxurious bath and a sun trap of a deck. Parking is plentiful and close by, as is a good-quality cafe to look after you while the restaurant is restored. Above all, the hosts treat you like an old friend - couldn't ask for better!

The staff gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. Our top floor room and bathroom were bright, comfortable and clean. The location is in front of the beach with lovely views. There is a free carpark in front and a nice cafe next door for breakfast etc. We were advised in advance that there is currently no restaurant in the hotel. However, we were given the option to use the room and seafront veranda for our own food and drinks. We enjoyed our stay.

The b&b is in a great location next to the sea front, with clean and good sized rooms. The lady we met apon arrival was very welcoming, and even gave us a room upgrade as there was a cancellation.

We had a delicious full English in the morning, with tea, coffee and juice. There was also cereal available. We were offered more if we were still hungry. The only improvement being some baked beans.

In the evening we struggled to find somewhere to eat, due to covid the restaurant wasn't open, which is a shame. However, we were allowed to sit on the terrace to enjoy the view with a takeaway.

I would advise you book a table at Dylan's early as it seem to be the nicest place to eat in town, and the only place open past 8 for decent food.

Just wanted a place to rest our heads, whilst exploring the area. And found a little gem. Nice and quiet in the evenings, with a great location to watch and listen to the waves lapping on the shore. Welcoming staff that give you a home from home feel. We'll be staying here again when we're down this way again.

Best option for food in Criccieth. At the moment they are trialling restaurant hours in the evening and we were really pleased they have. Lovely bit of fish, nice house wine, the host made SO much fuss of our seven year old daughter and the ours were fantastic. Based on how lovely and kind the service was we will deffo book here for an actual hotel stay. Sometimes the people are as important as the place.
