Had a great stay at Mostyn Cottage despite staying after the recent storms with a lot of water on the trails. We stayed in the cottage itself in the larger of the two rooms. As we were the only ones staying had the lounge to ourselves, so a sofa each in front of the wood burner. Location is a bit off the beaten path but couldn’t be closer to the Coed-y-brenin trails, with the blue route going straight past the cottage. Breakfast was good and Keith and Glenda were fantastic hosts, even letting us use the room to get a shower (which was nice, hot and powerful) and changed later in the day we were leaving on.

The cottage is right next to the river, which we liked, but might be noisy for some if there has been lots of rain. The nearest places to eat are in Dolgellau, which is a 10 min drive away. If you are riding the trails, the cottage has a hose pipe (quite powerful) to wash your bikes and bike lock up. Wi-Fi was available but only worked in the cottage lounge, not the bedroom. Also there is little to no phone signal at the cottage.

We were relieved to be able to book a short break at Mostyn Cottage after having all other holiday plans postponed due to Covid lockdown. The booking was very straightforward and the information provided by the hosts was very helpful. We had a great welcome including a freshly baked lemon drizzle cake which was delicious. The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. It was situated directly on one of the trails so was very convenient as a base for mountain biking and walking. It was really quiet the only sound being the roaring river. We had good weather but even on the first evening when it rained there was enough shelter from the trees to avoid getting too wet. The bike lock up and bike washing facilities were very good. The cabin was stocked with everything you could need for a self catering break and all utensils and crockery was of a very clean and high quality. The lounge was comfortable and I was pleased to find that the lighting was good for reading a problem I have with a lot of hotel and b&B accommodation. There were useful trail maps in the cabin

Fantastic B and B, wonderful hosts cant do enough for you. Amazing breakfast useing the best local produce. The cleanest B and B we have stayed in. Tea and coffee available throughout your stay. Completely set up for runners walkers and MTB folk. We rode from the door and on return you can wash bike and kit before storing it securely in a bike locker. Once inside wet clothes can be dried and a shoe dryer available in hallway so no wet shoes the following day. You will not be disappointed when you stay at Mostyn cottage. We will go back a new favourite.

2 adjacent log self catering cabins with a detached stonehouse B&B in a quiet setting of the forest of Coed-Y-Brenin. The only noise is the sound of the river close by. The cabins are well catered - the only exception are clothes washing and drying facilities but the owners are happy to help you out in an emergency as they appreciate the muddy territory that goes with mountain biking! I can't fault the location; peaceful, beautiful and within easy access of all North Wales key beauty spots and attractions, and safe for the older kids to explore. The owners are so helpful and the breakfasts in the B&B are fantastic. I didn't get any phone signal (O2) but there is limited wifi in the B&B but as a family we're happy to "disconnect" from the busy world for the short stays. My 3rd time already and I know I'll be going back.

We stayed in one of the self catering wooden lodges and it was perfect for us as a couple and our dog in one lodge and our family next door. Secure storage for the bikes was a bonus as was the home made cake on arrival, thank you very much :) Trails and walks start at the end of the drive so no distance at all to start the day off with a walk up to the waterfalls. We had amazing weather and when it did rain, the bike trails did not change at all. Kids swam in the river every day which was an added bonus. Keith gave us a great guided bike ride and his local knowledge helped us no end with routes for us to try out. Great 4 days away and will be returning sometime soon. Thank you

A fantastic setting on loop 4 of the Minotaur trail, the cottages are a perfect location when visiting Coed Y Brenin. Keith and Glenda are fantastic hosts and bend over backwards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Both are medically trained so a great reassurance for mountain bike injuries if needed. Located directly above the river the accommodation is excellent and we will definitely be going back. Highly recommend to anybody wanting to visit Coed Y Brenin.

Great location for walking or cycling, secluded and quiet. Bike storage was great and very secure meaning you didn't have to worry. Made to feel very welcome, including the dog. Cake on arrival was delicious, followed by cookies mid week which the kids loved. Would definitely look to book again. Highly recommend.

Fabulous stay at Mostyn Cottages again! Great location to hit the trails being either on the easier trails or 400 yards away from the more advanced. Fabulous accommodation with secure storage for your bikes. Location is tucked away in the Welsh mountains with perfect facilities with everything catered for - even with the new Covid regulations.
Love the welcome you get each time and always willing to help with the smallest of questions needing answering.
Thankyou for a fabulous stay and hope to see you again soon

Fantastic location, amazing hosts, couldn't really ask for more. Cabins kept clean and tidy and have all necessities including bike storage and a small bbq, located within 5 min cycle from pretty much all trails. The visitor centre is only a 10 min cycle. Ideal location, and extremely knowledgeable hosts. Really enjoyed the 4 nights I spent there with my mate. Will definitely be returning to tackle the 40km black run known as the "beast". There is no service at all btw anywhere in the forest!

Our visit was one of many since not long after Mostyn Cottage opened as bed and breakfast/ self catering accommodation a good few years ago now.
This is our first visit in winter and it's just as beautiful as the summer.
The cabin lodge was warm and inviting as usual but with added twinkly Christmas lights.
As usual we were greeted with an impeccable high standard throughout and Keith and Glenda and their gorgeous dog Celyn are amazing hosts.
They are incredibly helpful but also value privacy.
I love this place and have really missed it but will make sure we return very soon indeed. We stayed for 4 nights to see the New Year in 2024. Silence is golden for our rescue dog whose terrified of fireworks...not a single sound here other than flowing water.
I love reading about the local history of the gold mine and of the cottage, how it housed mine workers from the 1800s.
The sound of the river flowing on the doorstep is so soothing and sends you into relaxation mode. The forest is beautiful and perfect for walks, running and mountain biking and the scenery.....stunning.
I cannot recommend this staycation accommodation enough.
This is Heaven on Earth!
