Described as a short (10 minute) walk to the town the return trip is very steep with the last part having no pavements. The property is not well suited for those with ambulatory issues. Our towels were not changed throughout our 3 day stay and there was no way of drying them in the room. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast choice was good. No evening meals were available and no takeaway food was allowed in the room.

My friend and I very much enjoyed our 3 night stay.
The rooms were comfortable, clean and had great views.
Norma was a charming host and looked after us well.
It is a 10 minute walk from Dolgellau village, not too steep a walk back and the last part can be accessed safely from a driveway and not the road as a previous reviewer wrote.
We would return.

The family room to the side of the house too small for anyone with a large group; even the bathroom was tiny. Being with a group of three other people, we often found ourselves virtually tripping over each other trying to make a cup of tea even.

To my disappointment, this place catered very poorly for vegetarians as for breakfast we were given nothing other than cereal, yoghurt and fruit to eat. This fell somewhat sort of the cooked breakfast I had anticipated would be available.

The WiFi connection was also so poor it was virtually unusable.

I bave been trying to book rooms at this B and B as part of our tour of Wales (we are a theatre company). Initially, Norma was great and replied to my emails saying she had 3 twin rooms available. When I asked if i could book these, I heard nothing despite several emails. I finally rang as I was getting worried with the impending dates, and she very brusquely answered the phone. I called the number on the website of the B and B, but Norma almost "told me off" and said she was at work and couldn't remember if we had booked!! When I said I was trying to find alternative accommodation as I was getting a bit worried, she sounded really sharp and just said "ok then fine" and put the phone down!! Very confused- when she initially answered the phone I thought I must have the wrong number as she sounded as if she didn't expect any calls re B and B and didn't know what I was talking about! Shame because the B and B looks good and very reasonable esp as we have a very tight budget. Oh well :(

My family and I spent 2 nights at Dwy Olwyn in Dolgellau as we wanted to go mountain biking at nearby Coed y Brenin bike trails. The location was super and Norma was very hospitable and helpful. The family room was very clean and spacious. We hope to be back next year, highly recommended B&B.

The lady running the B&B was really helpful. She cooks a nice breakfast. The BB is located in a quiet area, close to the village and a Eurospar supermarket that closes at 10pm. Good if you arrive late to the BB.
The room had microwave, fridge, tea&coffe facilities and so on. All very clean.

No complains at all. If so, just beware that the google map location of the B&B is not accurate.

The family room at the dwy olwyn bed and breakfast was the only accommodation we could find due to a sheep dog trial in Machynlleth. We arrived too late to refuse the room. The room was a temporary structure next to the house. First impression was that it smelt damp and the en-suite was ridiculously small (a toilet and a shower in a cupboard, the wash basin was in the room). When we got into bed the sheets felt damp and I thought they smelt of Izal disinfectant, at least I hope that’s what it was. We were told that our breakfast would be at 9:15. The breakfast, was poor, streaky bacon and barely cooked sausages. Some of the breakfast was served by a man who did not mind admitting that he had been tending to the horses and he had clearly not changed his clothes since, they were filthy.

The rooms are simple and narrow. The washroom is also simple, only two towels.
This bed and breakfast is good but the price is too expensive for the quality of the rooms.
The welcome and the breakfast are good.
