This really was a beautiful place to spend Valentine's day with my partner. The gentleman running the hotel was so helpful and lovely throughout. The bedroom itself was incredibly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The en-suite had one of the best showers I've ever used. EVER. We had one drink in the bar downstairs and the small wine was...

Stayed at the Mayhill hotel just for one night while enjoying a night out in Monmouth. The hotel room was cosy and well designed for a small area. Breakfast was good and the bar area is welcoming with a open fire just what is required on a very cold February night. The other rooms in the hotel are being re...

Well, we needed a hotel close to penallt because I was doing a course at humble by nature, early Saturday morning. Husband found the Mahilyow on booking.com. What a find, from entering the hotel, we received such a warm welcome, shown to our room, which was room number one, it was a twin bedded room, yes it was a tad...

Several members of the family stayed here, myself in a twin room, daughter in a double room, and second daughter in a family room. All of us enjoyed our stay. Holly, the manager, welcomed us and checked us in. Room and bed was comfortable. Big shower space, tea and coffee facilities, and plenty of toiletries on offer. Had drinks in...

Very friendly welcome, our room was immaculate and very comfortable, enjoyed a couple of drinks by a roaring fire in the bar, breakfast is up there with the best of them, very highly rated and would definitely stay again.

Very pleasant stay close to the centre of Monmonth and adjacent to the river Wye. Although rooms above a pub, accommodation two flights up and limited noise disturbance. Good windows mask any traffic sounds. Room a good size with a large window; en-suite better than most hotels but bed on small size. Monmouth has a wonderful Italian restaurant where we...

Stayed for two nights whilst visiting my mum and was immediately warmly welcomed by the bar manager - apologies if I get your name wrong but I think it may be Terry? - shown to our room with complimentary bottles of water and met Stuart the owner on the way up the stairs - he kindly explained that he had...

This is basically a pub with four rooms for bed and breakfast. The accommodation is on the second floor and you don't hear any noise from the bar at all. The rooms are not large but not cramped either and they are bright, comfortable and warm. Our en-suite shower room was recently refurbished, the cubicle itself being roomy with a...

We were welcomed warmly and shown to our rooms. Our rooms were immaculately clean and what fantastic bathrooms! We enjoyed fantastic breakfasts, freshly cooked and to our personal tastes. The location of the Mayhill suited us as only a few minutes away from the bustling town centre. We definitely hope to return in the future.
