Not been here since it changed hands. To say we were pleasantly surprised was an understatement. To start I had the pork belly, scallops weren't on the menu but they were only too happy to oblige when my wife asked if they had any. For mains my wife had venison which is one of the best we've tasted and I...

We went here for dinner and the food was delicious, the staff accommodating and friendly. We also stayed over and the rooms are small but clean and I had a fairly good nights sleep with a yummy breakfast in the morning. Very much recommend.

We had a fantastic meal here on Friday night. The flavours were superb and the presentation was beautiful. Great service and a great price tag. Couldn't believe the price for the quality of food. Looking forward to coming back with out friends. Would 100% recommend it

As my wife and I arrived in Monmouth around midday yesterday, parking up in the convenient carpark to the rear of Church Street, my eye was drawn to the Naval Temple monument on the Kymin which overlooks this pretty town. On a beautifully clear and dry day, I was drawn to the idea of Nelson taking tea with Lady Hamilton,...

After looking online and reading great reviews I was looking forward to my nights stay at Number 7 Church Street.....I was hugely disappointed. It was a promising start, when I arrived a helpful chap welcomed me into the restaurant and took my bags, it promptly went down hill from there. He tried 3 rooms, unlocking and walking into them before...

Stayed in this interesting restaurant / B&B over new year. The breakfast was compiled of high quality products, you won't be disappointed. Not sure of the waitresses names but the young lady who served us on new years day was a like a ray of light, she needs a pay rise! Especially so as we were a little tender from...

It is such a shame that this B&B was so unacceptable, as the staff were polite and nice. Firstly, the hotel reception is the bar in the restaurant, thankfully we packed light but had to clamber through the restaurant to reach the tiny door leading upstairs to our pokey room. On entry, the room was average sized and stank of...

We always pay a visit to the lovely town of Monmouth every November to mark my father's passing, and this year we thought that it would be nice to stay over and relax a bit and soak up a bit of Christmas atmosphere. We had eaten at #7 Church street the previous year and noted that it did rooms. So,...

We stayed at Prego three years ago and gave it a very good review. However this time was very different. We were there for 6 nights and our room was not once cleaned, the bed not made, the waste bin not emptied, cups not replaced, and teabags and milk not replaced. Being renamed 7 Church Street the service has deteriated...

New owners since my last visit and still a good standard. Nice warm comfortable room. Handy for the interesting town and ideal for hikers in the region. The welsh cooked breakfast is a delight , made from quality ingredients and cooked beautifully. I also had an evening meal which was gourmet standard at more modest prices that is usual. Fully...
