From the minute we drove up the sweeping drive we knew we'd made the right decision it was a beautiful day & we were greeted by impressive peacocks & a beautiful old building! We were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist to be told that we had a complimentary upgrade to a suite & that meant we could also check...

Stayed here on business trip. Clean small room with good size ensuite. Probably in a basic room as we had an on line deal . Beautiful setting with peacocks and rabbits and relaxing spa. The lift and stairs to the spa were in need if something...the spa was fine but the routes to get there were in need of refurbishment...

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback following a recent business trip. It appears that you may have accessed the Spa by using the staff staircase. Situated beside this staircase is a lift for residents to use. Apologies for any mixed messages that this access represented to you. We did have a coach tour present on the...

My husband and I spent two nights last weekend, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We booked a suite on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Room was lovely. Well maintained and beautiful furnishing. The food was excellent and we enjoyed dining on both evenings. We had fun exploring the castle on Saturday morning, before wandering into the town. There was...

Beautiful location, nice room and great staff. Short break in Ruthin and stayed at this property, which is quite charming and set in some lovely grounds with a lot of history. I would definitely recommend to friends/colleagues.

We stopped here for an anniversary weekend away. The room was very nice, it is an old,old castle and as such it will always look like it needs a bit of work, but our room was absolutely fine. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent both nights, breakfast was very good, and service from all the staff we encountered was excellent....

Although we didn't sleep in the hotel we managed to go inside and have a look around. There was a wedding going on with the guests milling around in the hotel and having their photographs taken in the grounds. The bride and groom looked beautiful. From what we saw of the hotel it looked very inviting and fit for purpose....

This castle is beautiful. The grounds are so historic and amazing. There are peacocks everywhere which really made it more beautiful. The staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming and the food was sublime. Bedroom was quaint but clean and lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves.

I accept that this is an old building and the traditional decor of the public areas are in keeping with that. Even our bedroom was acceptable, if a little old fashioned; however the decorative state and standard of the bathroom was simply not to the standard required of a four star hotel. Paint peeled off the front of the bath...

I stayed at Ruthin for two nights in June 2016 which was bought for me as a Virgin Experience holiday. The entrance, bar and sitting rooms are very grand and lovely and we had a nice welcome. However the room we stayed in was not so grand and dirty in places. My biggest issue was the breakfast, if you go...

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights mid June. The building is very impressive and the staff were very friendly. Large room, v large bed. Lovely grounds with it's own flock of peafowl to add to atmosphere. Very good selection for breakfast, but slight disappointment was lava bread not on menu as part of Full Welsh Breakfast. We originally...

Thank you for recent review. We appreciate your comments regarding wear and tear, the upkeep and repairs of such an old building do present their challenges at times but we are continuously working on them. Apologies that we don't offer lava bread, it is not something that is in great demand in the local area. Once again, thank you for...
