Drinks were cheap, more of a sports pub. Full of screaming students in the back area. Can’t enjoy a drink when all you hear is that. Rule of 6? Covid? No such thing there apparently apart from “checking in”

Just popped in for some food with my wife and 2 kids after a good day out. Staff are extremely friendly albeit busy (having to man bar and kitchen simultaneously) ensuring everyone is ok. Cannot get over the fantastic way we have been treated purely because our food took a little longer than expected. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Brilliant staff Great food Fantastic premises Will definitely be visiting again in the next couple of days.

My regular as a student many years ago has changed much, but one things still remains - it's the combination of locals' and students' pubs. Lovely drinks, and, by the sound of it, the latenight parties are still going strong (even though, at 60+, I may be a little past it!) Even today, in Lampy (town or SDC), I feel the years drop off. If one doesn't like a student small town, Lampy is best avoided. As for me - originally the best years of my life, and even now, I feel brilliant just visiting - whether for a few minutes or a few days! I've never stayed here - but it's my regular pub whenever I'm in the area. Good to see 'The Bonce' in good hands once more :-)

The room was above the bar, the noise was horrendous til 2am. Then was woken up by people shouting at one another at 3am. The next day we returned to our room, the bed was unmade, no clean towels, no teabags etc. When I complained I was told "you need to request if you want room cleaned" !!! What were we paying for -only four rooms not a mansion!!! The next day bed was made, clean towels, but the bathroom was not cleaned or the bin emptied. No coffee was put out and the travel kettle needs changing to a better one too. No leaflets available about local attractions either, no breakfast available. Overall things need improving and we won't be booking here again as I like to sleep at night.
