I was staying at Evangelisa on business, so I was out early and back late.My room had a sumptious bed and pillows and a Lavazza coffee making machine and a tea maker! The soft furnishings are beautiful, lovely muted colours and good quality bedding and cushions. In addition there were products in the bathroom that are made locally in Wales and the fragrance was beautiful! The breakfast was cooked to perfection. Angela saw I had bought a bottle of white wine, while I was at ork she put it in her breakfast fridge for my return! Now that is service!! I am returning when I can, with friends to visit the beautiful coast line. Highly recommended!!
What should have been a leisurely week of study in the university library turned into a frantic two day scramble to get everything done before the university closed because of Coronavirus. And the worst part was having to cut short our time at Evangelisa! Can't praise it highly enough. Angela and Nigel were amazing hosts, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The house is lovely, the rooms are beautiful (we stayed in Snowdon, on the top floor). Everything is spotless - Angela has high standards! Classy toiletries, quality linen and towels, and a coffee maker so we could have REAL COFFEE in our room! Including decaff, which made me very happy. Also REAL MILK, not nasty UHT. And complimentary Welsh cakes :-) The breakfasts are AMAZING - I had the Traditional Welsh every morning, which includes laverbread (if you've never tried it, please do - it's a bit like Nori, but chunky, with toasted oatmeal - very umami and totally delicious), and my partner also tried the Blue Lagoon, which is one of the vegetarian options. Bacon and sausages are from pigs which are raised 3 miles away. Even the marmalade is made in Wales! Good to see so many local products and suppliers - there's nothing mass produced or chain-hotel about the experience at Evangelisa. We can't wait to visit again - this is a really superb B&B, tbh more like a little boutique hotel, unique and special. We did tell Angela that her rates are too cheap! …
A very warm welcome, and a beautiful en suite room, including a kettle, complementary Welsh cakes, and fast wi-fi. A really comfortable bed, and a peaceful night's sleep. The Black Mountain cooked breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.
First visit to this hotel, and can honestly say it will be my first choice for my next booking to visit Lampeter. Really friendly welcome and service. Tastefully decorated rooms. Boutique but traditional feel to the hotel. Great breakfast. Quiet location even though on the high street. I'm an annual visitor to my old uni town and have stayed in most of the accommodation on offer and can honestly say it is the best I have stayed in for looks, style and comfort. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Just back from a night at Evangelisa. We had two rooms Snowdon and Pembroke. We received a really warm welcome from the owner. We had requested an early check in which we got. Both rooms were lovely. Really clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and nice bedding bedding and towels. Definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
