We were a small group of five friends but the staff kindly let us have a menu that included a three course meal for £12.50, that we knew a much larger group of people had had the benefit of a few weeks earlier. I didn't expect the hotel to oblige and let us have this deal because I thought our...

Arrived late at the lovely Cat's place here in Lampeter and was treated like a long lost friend. Food was great and hospitality even greater. Highly recommend the honey blend Drambuie! Perfect location, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. What more can you want? By the way, it's a pub and restaurant, not a hotel.

On our way back from Cenarth on a Sunday afternoon we had left it a bit late for lunch , but found the Royal Oak was serving all day. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but that was ok, the courtyard was sunny with a few people soaking up the sun. We ordered roast dinners and a gammon...

Six of us went for a meal here in July 2013. Our ages ranged from 21 to 60 something and we all really enjoyed both our food and the atmosphere. I have to say it was great value and the service was good too although a tiny bit slow as they were so busy, we didn't mind as it gave...

I have only had food and drink here but can say its worth it,and am rating it on just that. The food is good value and the Real Ales that I have tried there have all been well looked after. The small back bar is nice and the staff know what they are doing. It gets busy at times and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In spite of its name, Royal Oak is not actually a public house. Oak trees however, are a feature of the property, and a valuable habitat for the local wildlife. Conservation is high on our priorities, we have recently put in a wildlife pond, which has been visited by herons, wild ducks, and frogs. Wild birds, including woodpeckers & nuthatches visit our range of garden feeders. This part of Wales is Red Kite country and kites or buzzards can frequently be seen above the property. ... more   less
