The G&D is a popular local pub and restaurant with rooms at the rear of the pub in the converted stables. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the facilities that you need. The food is very enjoyable and is served in a smart and clean restaurant, they also have a good choice of real ales in the bar....

After a long and arduous 15 mile walk on a hot day we arrived to find a damp, dingy and dusty twin room with no hot water in the bathroom for a much needed shower. My friend firstly complained to the landlord who discovered that a power cut earlier in the day meant that the timer had not been reset....

The George is situated on the main Street through Knighton, in a good location for shops. There is a Spar and Costcutter opposite the pub. Also a larger supermarket (Coop) with a post office, a five minute walk. When we arrived we got a very luke warm reception from a male member of staff. No greeting or small talk. Our...

Room was fine, our twin was pleasantly decorated. Breakfast was tinned grapefruit, no fresh fruit, and cooked breakfast portions were not generous. I think they managed to make half a tomato go between two us which was a bit mean as we were not having bacon etc

I recently walked the Offa's Dyke path with a friend and booked The George & Dragon as our Knighton accommodation. During the long days walk from Hay I developed an injury which meant I was practically crawling by the time we arrived at 9:30pm! Despite the restaurant 'officially' closing at 9pm food was provided which was gratefully consumed! The overall...

Stayed here with a friend after walking Offa's Dyke, friendly family run pub and accomadation, good size rooms with verything you need. Busy evening in pub but the host still took the time to come over and chat with us. Food was excellent, and breakfast set us up for the next days walking.

I stayed at the George and Dragon after walking what is perhaps the toughest stretch of the Offa's Dyke Path, the famous switchback section from Brompton Crossroads to Knighton. Having looked forward to arriving at the accommodation, on what had been a wet and windy day, I must confess to being somewhat underwhelmed by the lukewarm reception from the young...

I stayed here with a friend whilst walking Offa's Dyke. The pub was very busy when we arrived being a Saturday night, but the accommodation is in an annexe at the back so it was very quiet and well appointed. The food was lovely - fish and chips, served on a plate, rather than a trendy slate, just what was...

Stayed one night whilst walking from Kington through to Brompton Crossroads. The room was very comfortable with tea/coffee facilities, tv, although the shower could have been a little more powerful. We eat in the lounge and had a delicious meal with great service and a good chat with a few of the friendly locals - Dog made to feel at...

First visit to Wales and I was not disappointed with this accommodation. Everything about it was superb. Cosy room, fabulous food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place and would have no doubts about going back if we returned to the area. Brilliant :)
