Fantastic food, great value for money. A good atmosphere, we were made to feel very welcome. Will defiantly visit again when in the area. Home cooked food, with best chips we have had in a long while!

We stayed here two nights. Rooms comfortable and clean, nothing fancy. Ate in restaurant both nights, food is good pub grub, with several veggie option and specials board. Good portion size, lovely and hot, served very speedily. Friendly staff, nice informal atmosphere. All in all very good value.

Not the most modern hotel in the town but a really friendly staff, a good place to stay with excellent food and ideally situated to explore surrounding places of interest. Stayed here for three nights. Bed in room one could do with a new mattress, lighting was not very bright in the room and a little decorating would be welcomed,...

The staff were friendly enough, The room was shabby and dirty and although they had put a chemical cleaner down the toilet it had not been cleaned of the previous guests faeces. The bed had someone's hair in it. We could not spend the night there so we told the staff who did not seem surprised.

Old town-centre pub/hotel. Had a stop over on a rail journey, handily placed by the main bus stops and five minute walk from the station. Room was large and fairly clean, though it smelt a bit of something (drains?). Single glazed old sash windows, pouring with condensation in the morning, probably in a conservation area so can't be replaced, but...

Lovely meal, cheesy garlic bread delicious! Had coffee in garden to start, just some tables and fruit trees. Could take dogs in so sat in snug to eat, very nice. Went on Wednesday which is market day so quite busy.

I booked this Hotel as I was so pleased with my stay in August 2015 and I can honestly say I wish I hadn't. Upon arrival it was quite busy but the young lady who was trying to book us in was being shouted at to sort the glasses out, thankfully she told the other staff member that she would...

We stopped for lunch at 1.30 here. The barmaid was having an intriguing conversation with a friend or off-duty colleague, while taking our order. While hearing about their drunken exploits of the night before was interesting, it didn't get the order taken in a timely manner, or the table we were at cleared from the previous users ... the food...

I booked the White Lion for a family event close by, on arrival we ate in the bar and were quite pleased with what we'd ordered. Our family room (No 1) was very pleasant and actually had a separate room for the third bed which was unexpected. The furnishings were homely and bright and the room was nice and clean....

I stayed here with a friend while walking Glyndwr's Way. After giving us the wrong room and charging us nearly twice the advertised price, they finally put us in a room with a door that wouldn't lock. The staff were unfriendly and incompetent through the whole stay. Breakfast was perhaps the sole redeeming feature. Don't give this place your business.
