A large group of my friends and I booked up the farm as we were in Cardiff for the weekend. It looked nice online but maybe a bit rustic and it seemed quite a bit away from Cardiff. When I arrived I was very pleasantly surprised although it was quite rustic it has all the mod-cons (including wifi) , is incredibly charming and all the rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed in one of the cottages and the beds and duvets are incredible - you won't have a better nights sleep. The farm is a very pleasant place and although is a bit out from Cardiff it's easy to access Cardiff - taxi in took about 30 mins and the farm uses a very reliable taxi firm. Alternatively Barry is five minutes away and trains run every 30 mins to Cardiff (and takes about 20mins). The airport is about 5 minutes away too so very useful for people flying in. The place is very clean and this is mainly due to the lady running the place Denise. She was fantastic went out of her way for us a number of times and was very accommodating and friendly. If you're looking for a nice break away from it all or even a base for Cardiff you could do a lot worse than stay here. Can't speak highly enough of the place.

Room Tip: Cottages are lovely. In the summer the gypsy rose could be very nice for a romantic weekend.

We stayed here with our closest friends over our wedding weekend (which took place at close by Fonmon Castle). Victoria and Mark were fantastic, completely down to earth and nothing was too much trouble. We had a get together the night before our wedding which included about 45 people and a buffet provided by Victoria and her team. Our guests started an impromptu whip-round with a tip jar as they were blown away by how attentive the team was during the evening, ensuring we had a great time... which we did! The food was delicious clearly but the service was exceptional. The rooms were immaculate and Denise made sure we all had exactly what we needed at the right time. My husband was incredibly grateful to her for the tidying job she had done on our 'wedding suite' as apparently when he'd left it in the morning it was 'an absolute state' in his own words! I would never have guessed as it was beautiful when I saw it that night. All our guests raved about Denise - so welcoming and thoughtful, really made the weekend for us.

We stayed as a family party to celebrate a wedding at nearby Fonmon Castle. Denise could not have been more welcoming. Ariived Friday afternoon to tea/coffee, squash and 2 lovely homemade cakes. Weather was great so we sat outside around the fire pit, scented by the lavender. All the rooms are decorated very well and the kitchens are stocked with kitchen utensil, crockery etc. Denise Ariived early Saturday morning and took care of the clearing away of breakfast so we could enjoy the preparations for the wedding. The layout of the rooms were great for the wedding party in that the groom and groomsmen were able to have a champagne breakfast in the upstairs dining room whilst the bridal party had their hair and makeup in the sitting room of the cottage apartment. It meant we were all together but allowed the bride and groom not to see each other before the ceremony. The group breakfast of Sunday morning was excellent. Good quality food, lovely coffee and almond croissants. The homemade rye bread was delicious. She didn't rush us to leave and we again enjoyed the sunshine in the courtyard with our coffees before departing. I would highly recommend this as a group venue and especially if you are planning a wedding at the castle. Thank you so much, Denise for making the weekend special.

20 of us stayed at Sutton Mawr Farm this weekend for my Nieces wedding. From the moment of arrival in this beautiful place, every member of staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Freshly baked cakes were waiting for us - a lovely touch and tea/coffee was provided. We stayed in the family room as there was 6 of us fabulous! The room was spotless! Lovely touches made with the provision of bathrobes, toiletries and fresh flowers in the rooms - plenty of towels provided as well - even the huge fire pit was ready for action! The outside area was so pretty, and like others have said you could have been in France - so tranquil and relaxing. We weren't hassled to leave early this morning - it was all so chilled out. A fabulous place well worth our 200 mile drive! Would stay there again in an instant - cannot fault it.

Just great . Travelled with 2 small children and could not have been more accommodating. They gave us a tour of the farm and my little girl got to collect eggs. Do not leave without trying their bacon - still dreaming of it months later!
